That word has quite a few meanings (including several different parts of speech), which meaning does the Korean word equate with?

By the way, reading the first post of this log last week finally triggered me to start reading through GoldFibre's log (I've had it bookmarked forever, and I regularly check his blog site, but I hadn't actually taken the time to read all the way through his log thread yet). That log was very informative and now I'm glad I took the time to read through it.

Best of luck with your language studies... :)

I believe it's an exclamation (감탄사), that you use on its own. Like when you stub your
toe.

Day 8

부산에서 사는 진구 방문했어요. She told me that 존나 is a really bad thing to say.
그래서 조심하게 써세요.

I bought an 일번어 phrasebook today. I will carry it and/or my 한국어 phrasebook with me
at all times.

I came back late from Busan, but 버서 탄때 던어 많이 외웠어요. My ability to remember
vocabulary has greatly improved over the past few weeks.

Korean words of the day:
풍선 - a balloon
구슬 - a marble
팽이 - a (spinning) top

오솔길 - a footpath
전경 - a panorama
전공대 - a lookout point, a viewing point
시내 - a stream
시냇가 - the bank of a stream

정육점 - a butcher's (shop)
기념품 - a souvenir shop

북극곰 - a polar bear
악어 - a crocodile or alligator

조개 - clams (food)
굴 - oysters (food)

만우절 - April Fools' Day

That's good to note.

Believe it or not, that was one of the first words I ever looked up in a K-to-E dictionary (and I've never forgotten it since). 소녀시대의 효연 gave that as an answer in an interview on KBS Sketchbook which elicited quite a reaction from the other group members and the audience, so I had to find out what it meant. The literal translation of that word is fairly straightforward, too: north-pole-bear

I also learned "수박 = watermelon" from that same interview segment (from 티파니의 answer).

Day 9

Was busy at work today, so didn't do any serious study. 어제 집에 늦게 왔서 운동을 안 했어요.
그레서 오늘 지력이 낮아요 ㅜㅜ

Korean word of the day: 유리 - glass, a pane
Japanese word of the day: benkyoo - study(ing)
Dutch phrase of the day: je van het - top-notch, very good

Day 10

Listened to several KoreanClass101 lessons.

I heard from a Korean girl that my Korean phrasebook isn't so good -- some words are a little formal. Still, it will
be good for vocabulary building.

Korean word of the day: 대사관 - an embassy
Dutch word of the day: de kakker - a posh or stuck-up person
Flemish word of the day: dikke nek - a posh or stuck-up person

제 11일

Several more KoreanClass101 lessons. I've been going through them very thoroughly, so I'm still in the 'Beginner' section.

Korean word of the day: 분명히 - clearly, certainly
