400 a week. Wow, that is a lot of vocab, I read some of Koreaninkuwait.com that was really helpful. And there are so many other helpful people on this forum. I would love to make a list of them someday. 1. Reading p. 154 성서이야기 Reading bible stories is way more fun then Anne Frank. The bible has lots of fighting and killing etc... Lots of excitement. Lately, I read the English first, then the Korean. Both I read aloud, in a loud voice. I try to pretend I am reading to someone. So, I read "블레셋 사람들이 당신을 잡으러 왔어요!" This forces me to concentrate and not skip. I helps my pronunciation, and hearing. I feel I am gaining speed in reading... 2. Watching 인간 극장 one episode about Nancy Lang, wow she is really annoying. 하이킥 Well, the subtitled part of 인간 극장 is the best. I should really focus more on that. 3. Looked up some Hanja meanings as always. Just, look it up after I am done reading. It helps me memorize the words. 4. Conversation, some.... but not much to say. Saw my inlaws. They speak too fast. It is hard to follow the conversations when the are all together drinking and talking. I realize I need to spend more time listening and less time on hanja. I am going to listen to Korean shows on DMB while I work. Also, I bought 10 kids books. I want to read more easy books, and comics. And, I watched 5 episodes of 인간 극장.... I read 3 articles in the newspaper. I am not sure how useful this is... 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I decided to redo the way I learn Korean. 1. Listen to lots and lots of dramas.... And repeat what they say... and try to pretend I am in the drama... 2. Watch 인간 극장. Slowly and learn, how to say easy stuff, Don't worry about Vocab but on sentence meaning. And slowly learn vocab, effortlessly, 3. Focus on Korean not Hanja, 펴놓다..삐치다.. I will open the Hanja book from time to time... But learning "Korean Korean" is way more useful... 4. Try to make sentences in my head, or just think, "how can I say that in Korean" all day long. 1. Watched 히킥 Episodes 1-15 Also, listen to episodes in the subway... 2. Reading 미녀와 야수 elementary book, finished Uncle Tom's 오두학, finished bought 10 beginner books, very fun easy.. 3. No, hanja... 4. Talked with my 3 yr old nephew... Sometime wife... 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Feeling progress now. 1. Watch 히킥 on the weekend episodes 10-30. Listen to them, spaced repetition style, in the Bus or subway. Listening very carefully. 2. Finished Cinderella Sleeping Beauty And some other kid stories. 3. No hanja.. Good, I am happy, I studied it, but happy to stop. It is easy to get carried away with Hanja. 4. I make flashcards when I read, I think just making them is more usefull than actually, using them. But I do find a few extra minutes a day to study them. 5. Conversation, with my Nephew, I tell him stories in Korean, he understands the stories I make up. So, I like making stories for kids, about penguins and aliens,, he is 4yrs old, so it's really fun... I reviewed a 연세 book.
한국어 3... I think the set up of those books is great... In one CD there is like 6 hours of listening and there are lots of practice drills.. However, the big problem they have is they teach formal Korean... Why?? I will never understand the logic in this. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I read all the Grade 명작 일기,,, Famous stories... Most of them I read twice... My reading speed is improving... The first time I had to look up a lot of words, but the second time I actually enjoyed reading them. I plan on buying Grade 2 명작 읽기 asap... New Years Goals. 1. Study GMAT an hour a day or so... 2. Keep reading Korean...Listening etc... 3. Started studying Spanish 20 min. a day.. using Assimil... 1 person has voted this message useful | |
