Now, is 추석
So, the entire weekend will be spent with in-laws,
eating and eating and eating and eating.
But, no drinking for me, still staying sober, almost 5 months now,
사색적인 생활, I like it, only wish it were possible.
NB, good luck with the Korean,
A Korean friend told me he learned English while in Korea, I said "How'd you do it?"
He says "I had a lot of 호기심"
Jiwon, sorry could not meet Wednesday.....
Life of a salary man..
Anyway,
Merry 추석

No problem at all. It's all understandable in Korea with 야근 and what not. But I can tell you that you would have really liked the last meeting on Wednesday. Both Yousef and Jason are very knowledgeable about learning methods and way things work in brain (whereas I'm more of the trial-and-error school plus literature). I'll try to schedule a meeting as soon as possible and let you guys know.
I thought on 추석 you are supposed to spend the time with the husband's family? Well, at least that's how it's been for me. XD Help out a lot in the kitchen and your 장모님 will like you, provided you don't create any disruptions in the kitchen.
At least you get day-offs for three days, poor 수험생 like me have classes on Friday AND Sunday.
Happy 한가위. :)
PS - another word for your list: 윤회 (cycle of birth and death, a bit like re-incarnation, but a Buddhist concept).

My method.
Watch Movie with subtitles.
I have a small portable DVD player that I put in front of my computer.
I am sitting so I have the notebook open and the computer on, it is easy to type.
I have two notebooks,
one for Scriptorium, called (Scriptorium Notebook)
one for interesting sentences, called (Interesting Sentence Notebook)
I watch the movie, pausing almost on every sentence.
1. I listen and repeat, trying to match the pronunciation as close as possible.
2. I copy the subtitles in the Scriptorium notebook, repeating aloud.
3. I look up all unknowns, I am in front of the computer. This is very important, I use NAVER dictionary to look up the words. It is fast.
4. I remember what Iverson said about thinking about a grammar point, just keeping this in mind makes you think of grammar.
5. I repeat the sentence.
6. If the sentence is a funny, or an interesting sentence, or new vocab, I circle it and put a number by it.
7. After watching enough of the movie, I stop and use a Second Notebook (The Interesting Sentence Notebook), I rewrite the interesting sentences in that notebook.
8. I try to memorize those sentences, and think about what they mean and why they said that.
9. I write the sentences in this forum.
This is not the only activity I do,
Seperately, I do,
Vocab work, vocab list, everyday.
Conversation practice.
Sometimes read about grammar,
Pronunciation practice.
However, this is my greatest tool for input. I get to see Real Korean.
Not the garbage Korean that you learn in Korean class.
I plan on buying a great grammar book, to help cement the grammar I am learning.
Please suggestions???
