I just received an email from Pimsleur Marketplace about Pimsleur Spanish Comprehensive 4 to be released this November.

Sounds interesting. Was there a Comprehensive Level 1-3 or is that the regular 1-3 course?

So...wouldn't this make Pimsleur Spanish Plus (lessons 91-100) kinda obsolete?
Regardless, I've already finished Pimsleur Spanish (well through lesson 90 anyway) and moved on to Assimil, so I guess this news doesn't really affect me now.

I wouldn't be surprised if lessons 91-100 are included in the new program.

I'd take that news with a grain of salt, this is just a reseller. There is no news about this on the actual publisher's website.

I will wait and see, just like everybody else. Amazon.com also has it posted on their website for Nov. 2010. It was some years ago, when Amazon.com posted Comprehensive Turkish at a specific date, but showed up a couple months after the initial demonstrated release date. In other words Comprehensive Turkish was still coming out for release. The Pimsleur website at that time did not have anything on Turkish.
This has happened with ASSIMIL and some of their products also. Example- The French based Latin course on cds was listed on Amazon.fr before the ASSIMIL site listed the product.
By the way I just talked to customer service from the Pimsleur website and the operator said there is no Comprhensive Spanish four. I replied by stating I saw the information on the Amazon.com website and she said that she will talk to someone else, because she is now unsure.
Again customer service IMO would not know exactly, as most operators only take orders and is unlikely to know for sure what is in the works for future release.

I hope so. Those lessons (I think Pimsleur called it "Spanish Plus") were garbage. IIRC, the only thing they taught were words relating to the publishing industry. It struck me as a product hastily put together in order to get more money out of those who had used Comprehensive 1-3 and wanted to go further. It would be best if they just forgot that course even existed and started on lesson 91 from scratch.

Well I talked to Pimsleur customer service again last night. The reply was they do not know any of the Comprehensive titles to be released this year, only what they have on the Pimsleur website.
The cover of Spanish 4 can now be seen in the mentioned first post.
