TAC 2009 Day 26

I read volume 1 of 천행기. I didn't find it very interesting, so I probably won't read the other volumes.

Since Jan 1 I've put a lot of focus on trying to finish one book per day. This is fine for children's books, since I can carefully read through and digest the new words as I go. However, manhwas are more difficult and usually longer, so for now they should probably take longer than a day. Rather then breezing through and not picking up much, I am going to read them more slowly and get more out of the time I put in. They are usually divided up nicely into about 5 few chapters per volume, so it might be better to try to get through 2 or 3 chapters per day.

This is just my disclaimer since I will be putting in the same amount of effort and time, but my book totals won't be going up as fast.

I see manhwas as my stepping stone from children's books to young adult novels. They have more advanced vocabulary, but have shorter sentences and are full of pictures.

TAC 2009 Day 27

I read 누구 발자국일까. I'm thinking to keep reading one very easy children's book each day in addition to whatever other reading I can fit in.

I also had 2 hours of speaking practice, though we mostly talked about some constructions from my readings that I found confusing.

I watched 도라에몽: 진구의 마계대모험 7인의 마법사. I thought Doraemon might be too basic to be interesting, but it was a very entertaining movie.

GoldFibre, I've been following your log for awhile and am impressed with your consistency. I am also learning Korean, but haven't been doing it for quite as long as you. Nonetheless, I am really curious as to your opinion on learning Hanja. I know that you have spent a fair bit of time studying them, so, how helpful has it been? I'm really considering tackling them, but I just want to be sure it's worth the effort.

Also, on the same lines, how did you go about learning them? What's the best method?

Anyway, keep up the good work. You're inspirational. Fighting!
