TAC 2009 Day 85
I continued reading 케로로, played with the SRS some more, and watched some Korean TV. I'm removing the totals section of the entries for now.
Things progressed faster than I thought with listening, and strangely enough, it's made my one on one conversation sessions less useful. I need to reconsider how I approach these sessions and a few other things I'm doing.

Goldfibre, that was a great call on using the English key word. There are a lot of reused synonyms for the 한자. I'm just going to focus mostly on getting them down in English but taking note of the pronunciation/한글 by having it on the back and front of my cards. Maybe I'll put together a second SRS file where I'll add 한자 I actually come across when reading and in this file focus soley on tying the character to its pronunciation.
Also, what is a mixed script reader? I probably should know that sort of thing, but I must say I'm ignorant. Anyway, it sounds like you're coming along really well with your Korean based on the last two posts. One quick question, would you say that the biggest boost to your listening comprehension was the intensive period that you spent working on it (watching the news, right)? Or is it a cumination of all the work you've been doing? Or something else? Or all the above?

Mixed script is when Sino-Korean words are written using Hanja, and everything else is in Hangul. A reader presents some reading excerpts along with explanations of new vocabulary, characters, or grammar. I haven't used them because usually the content seems really dry. Some language learners really like to use them though.
I think my listening improved when I did that intensive period, but the change feels pretty mysterious. I don't actually know much more Korean, but I can pick out most of the words and phrases I know as I hear them now. Native Korean speaking used to seem too fast, but now it feels slowed down to a reasonable level. Maybe this is because they speak faster on the news?
I'm experimenting with the SRS again, because it was going to be hard to remember all the words I picked out of Keroro. I'm using the new feature of Anki where you have to type in an answer to make it a more active exercise, but have only done this for a few days, so don't take it as an outright recommendation.
Here's an example card:
Front
모처럼 이걸로 화기애애한 期會를 잡을 생각이었는데...
Answer (I have to type this in)
기회
Back
화기애애―하다(和氣靄靄―)[형용사][여 불규칙 활용] (여럿이 모인 자리에) 화기에 찬 분위기가 가득하다.
【예】시종 화기애애한 분위기 속에서 면담이 이루어졌다.
기회(期會)[―회/―훼][명사]정기적인 모임.
The sentence is straight out of Keroro, and I've read it enough times to remember the context it came from. For each card I pick a Sino-Korean word to quiz myself on. I chose 기회 in this card because I know the Hanja used, but the word is new. I didn't quiz 화기애애 because both 靄 is unfamiliar, and the word is new. The next time I come across 화기애애 I may quiz the Hanja for it.
So I both have to understand the meaning of the full sentence and get to reinforce the Hanja roots. Anyway, this is still in infancy, but I thought it might be something you could consider for Hanja practice.

TAC 2009 Day 86
I kept plugging through volume 1 of Keroro, and I am adding cards to the SRS after I do each page of vocabulary study. I also did a tiny bit of free reading in volume 6, but kind of like doing the intense vocabulary stuff for now.
This was the best new card today:
난 개구리를 좋아하는 36살 主婦랍니다. 하사님, 자화상이 무척 귀엽네요!
A desperate housewife?

This morning I went through some more of 케로로 volume 1. I also finished reading volume 6.

TAC 2009 Day 87
I spent all of the afternoon and evening with some Korean friends I hadn't seen since December. The first time we met I could barely form a sentence and didn't understand the questions they asked me. This time they were blown away that they could hold full conversations with me, and we had a great time exclusively in Korean.
In all, I got about 4-5 hours of Korean conversation in, which is exactly what I need to improve my production fluency. I also cancelled my one-on-one meetings, and will try to only meet up in groups from now on. When I'm with a group of people it is better because they speak at their normal pace to each other and tend not to slow down for me.

Wow, I really like the way you're doing vocab cards there. I'll definitely try it out. My RTH finally got here, so I'm changin pace some and mostly focusing on getting through it. Thanks for the idea.

I continued in 케로로 volume 1 and have collected about 600 new words so far. Almost done with this volume!
Best new card:
