GoldFibre, your log has been such an inspiration to me. I've been checking your log very often (sometimes several
times a day) since I found it a couple weeks ago.
And Jiwon, thanks so much for the book suggestions! I went and bought 괭이부리말 아이들 & 가시고기 right away,
and am now reading 가시고기 -- I can often understand the gist of what I read but there's loads of words I don't
know. When I show it to my Korean friends they all know and like the book, and say its very sad. . . which I can
guess from reading the first 28 pages. :-)

I've moved this Korean log to my own site: Korean in Kuwait

Anno, thanks so much for your message. I'm glad to have inspired you.
I have received quite a few posts and private messages like the one above, which have made me realize that this log can be valuable to other language learners. However, this forum may not the best vehicle for reaching the people who might benefit from such a log.
One can find some good advice on this forum, but to do so one must sort through about 95% chaff. The likelihood of a Korean learner at this site stumbling upon quality information first is not so good. I hope that my site can be more prominent than a thread like this one when like-minded learners are seeking help.
Anyway, I won't be using this thread anymore for study updates, and probably won't be checking this forum very much. Thanks to everyone who has helped me on the way. I wish all of you here the best of luck, and hope you all achieve your language learning goals!
안녕히계세요.

Though my Korean studies are logged elsewhere now, it seemed that with the end of 2009 coming up in a few hours it was a good time to give an update on my TAC 2009 for this forum.
TAC is meant to be a challenge to yourself and I would say I succeeded with flying colors. This year I studied Korean every single day and accomplished more than I thought was possible within such a time frame. However, there always seems to be something new to reach for when learning a language, so though I have come a long way, my study is far from over.
I'll be doing TAC 2010 as well, but continue in my external log. I wish the best to everyone else who is participating and hope that you will also achieve your goals!
