What do you say in your own language when someone sneezes ? What's its meaning ? And what is the sound you
use to describe it ?
For example, in French people says "À vos souhaits !" which basically means that you wish the person realized
his/her wishes. And to describe the sound of a sneeze, we use the word "Atchoum !".

After looking at the picture in the second link, I feel the urge to bathe in Purell...
Thanks for the links, Taengo. Quite informative. As an added benefit, I got two new Japanese words to add to my vocab list!

In Italian: "Salute!" (I think in French it's "Santé!").
As to the sound of sneezing, in Italian it's "Etcì".

In Dutch the sound of sneezing is called "hatsjoe". When someone sneezes we wish them "gezondheid" (like German "Gesundheit" and also meaning health) or "proost" which means cheers. If someone sneezes three times in a row we might say "Morgen mooi weer" meaning "Nice weather tomorrow" which refers to a piece of superstition that says that if someone sneezes three times it will be nice weather the following day.

If someone sneezes you say "Gesundheit!" in German to that person. And the sound of the sneeze is called "Hatschi!" in German.

In Spanish the sound is written "¡achús!" and we say "Jesús" or "salud" to the person who sneezes.
