Good to hear Tarvos!
Alright, no worries, Baracuda. I just figured it never hurt to ask. Though, just my luck,
after a job interview today it appears some big changes may be on the horizon in my life
and Russian (nor any language) might not be in the cards!

Hello, I have a question, I've decided to learn Ukrainian.
Has anyone used that method for beginners? It's rather new.
Beginner's Ukrainian with Interactive Online Workbook
http://www.hippocrenebooks.com/book.aspx?id=1699
There are samples on it, if someone speaking Ukrainian, could have a look, it looks good. And it's much cheaper on amazon.com, with good reviews.
@ bjornbrekkukot : Had it been Russian (or some other language), I would have borrowed the assimil at my local library to get the audios. Since the new "L'ukrainien" assimil is new, they don't have it yet (they bought the Catalan assimil after all, lol)... As a beginner, do you think I should buy it at all? Is it really that bad. I tried to learn Russian, really prefer Ukrainian.
Got one last question, I'm learning Dutch, I have the two assimil "Le nouveau néerlandais sans peine" et "le Néerlandais" assimil, which one do you prefer? I like the new one best, it contains only Dutch from Netherlands, which I prefer. Kinda allergic to anything Flemish. Not accusing anyone of course.

I've sent a message to Assimil asking if they were going to release any new material with English or Portuguese base. That's what they answered:
"Thank you very much for your message and your interest in our publications.
This is to inform you that we plan to publish a course to learn Yiddish, Arabic and Hebrew as an English speaker, but it won'be before 2013.
We are sorry to inform you that we do not plan to publish any new course for Portuguese speakers at the present time.
Best regards.
Nathalie FROEHLY"

As much as I truly LOVE Assimil, I just don't understand this company. Sure, I'm really
glad there bringing out these interesting new courses, but don't these choices
seem totally random?
A yiddish course when they don't even have a Portuguese one! (for example).
Someone mentioned market research somewhere. I seriously doubt they are really carrying
out effective market research. How many English speakers are studying Hungarian for
example? And of those that are studying it, how many people outside of this
forum
have even heard of it?
I have never seen it sold in any UK bookshops, and I would never of heard of it
if it wasn't for this forum. With that it mind, I genuinely wonder how many copies a
yiddish course will sell, and how that is even financially viable.
