As I am currently studying Korean on my own, I have no one really to turn to for advice except this forum...while studying my Korean text last evening, I came across this word 종로. Is this word pronounced as Chong - No? or Chong - Ro? In my text, it's written as Chong No, but I thought it should be Ro? Could any Korean speakers advise please?

Korean has several pronunciation shifts, so yeah, Chong-No is correct. I'd really recommend the "Sounds of Korean" book, which has been really invaluable for the language's pronunciation, also Arguelles' Korean book has a very good section on it.

^ What he said.
I, too, would recommend "Sounds of Korean" as a very useful resource. It describes the pronunciation rules in detail (including mouth/tongue drawings for the basic sounds, pronunciation shifts, glide vowel weakening (e.g., 봐 sounding closer to 바), etc.) and also includes an MP3 CD with native speaker audio.

Thank you to both of you! :)
I must say that, the more I study Korean, the more I am enjoying the language!
