I don't suppose anyone has a transcript of Pimsleur Korean, do they?

One of the things I noticed while going through the lessons years ago was that even though I was (kind of) learning the words, I had no idea what I was actually pronouncing, or rather, I wouldn't recognize it if I was reading it. Compare this to Japanese where, when you learn a new word, you immediately know how to write it (in hiragana) and pronounce it perfectly.

With Korean, I don't know if I'm hearing a, or e, (sorry, I can't type in Korean at the moment, so bear with my approximations), or some dipthong, or if the previous cluster ends with a K and the next one starts with an ah, or if the previous one ends with a vowel and the next one stats with a "ka."

Or if that word for "weather" is "dal-shi" or "nal-ssi", haha.

Or how to write that monstrosity of a very conjugation that they teach you in one of the first lessons, "hal-shi-su-i-sum-ni-kka" as in "yeong-eo-reul hal-shi-su-i-sum-ni-kka?" (I think that's it, I haven't listened to it in a few years).

Man, I think Korean might be up there with Chinese in that just because you learn how to say a new word doesn't mean you know how to read or write it :/

So... If anyone has a Pimsleur Korean transcript, that would be hugely helpful! I know there are transcripts for other Pimsleur languages so I'm hoping someone has a Korean one.

Thanks!

Hmmmm. This is weird. IronFist, could you tell me if the private messaging feature is working correctly?

Pimsleur transcriptions have been posted here before, and taken down. I advise you to contact IronFist privately.

Yeah, I was asked to provide transcripts of short audio clips that members uploaded previously.

I did provide the transcripts but we were asked to stop. Apparently a few language program manufacturers asked the admin to remove the transcripts..

:/

If you do have something, feel free to contact me privately with it as well, as I was planning to try to create one myself soon for the purpose of review (by entering select sentences from it in an SRS) to make sure I don't forget what I just spent 4-5 months learning. Pimsleur's lack of a transcript is one of my few real complaints with the series. I've actually gotten in the habit now of looking up any word that I have any doubts how to spell after my first pass of a new lesson (so I can make sure it sinks in correctly on the remaining passes in case I misheard it on the first pass).

goosefrabbas, I heard you were wondering if the private messaging functionality of this forum's software was working correctly. Feel free to test it by sending me a private message, and I would be willing to let you know if I received your PM, thus confirming that the private messaging system does, in fact, work correctly.

Back on topic: Language program companies monitor these forums? You guys can PM me, too. You can hire me and I'll tell you how to stop making such awful Korean programs. I seriously don't know what the deal is with some of these programs... it's like my Korean literally gets worse after trying to go through some of the poorly structured, unorganized, and often wrong material out there. I have a background in corporate teaching so I know good/bad instructional material when I see it.

I might have one, I'll PM you if I find it

Edit: I just looked, and I don't have it. I have some other Korean .pdfs if you're interested.
