Aan Senmurv,
Ik persoonlijk hoop, dat we elkaar in dit forum serieus nemen, want ik was hier geen grappen aan het maken. Het Limburgs is een dialect en ik probeer dit dialect goed te verstaan. Ikzelf spreek ABN, zoals ik het op de universiteit heb geleerd. Net zo spreek ik "Hochdeutsch", zoals ik het van mijn ouders heb geleerd, maar ik kan heel goed "Bayrisch", "Kölsch" en "Plattdeutsch" verstaan. Dus ik hoop dat ik hier niet belachelijk gemaakt wordt, omdat ik ABN spreek. Overigens is mijn vriend een Limburger en zijn ouders spreken Limburgs. Dus mocht ik vaststellen, dat jij mij belachelijk wilt maken, dan ga ik de moderatoren inlichten. Ik hoop dat dat helemaal duidelijk is! Babylonia Let me summarize that in English to make it clear to anybody reading this: If you, Senmurv, try to make me ridiculous, than I will immediatley hand this topic over to the moderator team so that they can take mesures. Ik vraag me eigenlijk ook af waar die heftige reactie van Babylonia vandaan komt en kan op het eerste gezicht nou niet echt iets zien wat ik als beledigend zou opvatten. Ik vind het hele gedoe dus een beetje onnodig en zie ook niet in waarom Senmurw zou wegmoeten. Ik denk dat het allemaal een misverstand zal zijn...

What I wanted to say is that you should be careful with your tone, because your "hahahaha LOL" belongs in a chatroom and is against the rules of this forum anyway. Concerning the topic itself you're right because I have verified that my "ABN" is an oldfashioned expression. I learned Dutch in the 1980s !!! When I was a student 25 years ago, it was called that way, but that's now outdated and I was not aware of it. Now it is spoken about "Standardnederlands" which I find a much better expression than the traditional "ABN". Bij deze heb ik nu even mijn Nederlands gemoderniseerd. See Wikipedia:"Standaardnederlands is de gestandaardiseerde variant van het Nederlands die wordt onderwezen op scholen en wordt gebruikt door de autoriteiten en media in Nederland, België en Suriname, en op de Nederlandse Antillen en Aruba. Het bewaken en beschrijven van het Standaardnederlands is door de Nederlandse, Vlaamse en Surinaamse overheid toevertrouwd aan de Nederlandse Taalunie. De Taalunie publiceert werken waarin de normen van het Standaardnederlands zijn vastgelegd." So from now on I will speak about "Standaardnederlands" and "Hochdeutsch". So I have learned a new expression. I think that we have solved the conflict now and I am looking forward to some interesting discussions on a more factual level.
