Merhaba,

Benim adim Babylonia ve Türkce ögreniyorum. Biraz Türkce konusuyorum ve yaziorum ve yardim ariyorum.

Are there other people studying Turkish here or any native speakers of this interesting language willing to give assistance?

I am still on a beginner's level and I am studying together with a learning partner and (perhaps) a course, so I cannot advance as quickly as I would like to, but I have to adapt to the learning pace of other people.

Benim kitabim "Güle Güle" cok iyi ve enteresan.

Selamlar,

Babylonia

I started Turkish some time ago and studied it fervently for about....3 weeks :) No really, I will keep this delightful language on my hitlist and once learn it. But I am pleased to see that I haven't forgotten anything: I understood your little introduction :) As for " yardim ariyorum" - The best help are the many Turks that live here in Germany, you should make friends with a Turkish girl ( I presume you are female?)

Apart from that I warmly recommend Langenscheidts Turkish Course. You also should buy the 2 CDs.The sound recordings are of great quality.

Good luck and Kolay gelsin!

P.S. Oh yeah, the grammar book from Hueber is priceless! A very thorough and well structured treatise of this complex yet wonderful grammar of Turkish.

Tesekkür ederim!

Yes, I am female.

I have got the grammar book "Türkische Grammatik für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene" by Margarete Ersen-Rasch (Hueber Verlag).

I like my textbook, woorkbook and CDs "Güle Güle" (Hueber Verlag), because there are many dialogues in it and a lot of information about the Turkish culture.

Turkish has a phonetic pronountiation, a complex and logical grammar and it will take me years to learn it for example to be able to read a newspaper. So it's quite a project!

I work a lot with my CDs of the Güle Güle course. I would never learn a new language without buying appropriate auditive material. Radio "WDR Funkhaus Europa" offers Turkish news programs, but yet I don't understand enough of it.

I already have e-mail contact with somebody from Istanbul. I am just looking around to get some extra inspiration. There are not so many people learning Turkish in this forum, are there?

Within two weeks I will get to know whether my Turkish course at the adult education center will take place. We need 10 participants, which will not be easy to reach.

Simdiye kadar kursta alti kaltilan ve on katilan lazim.

Everyone is welcome to correct my mistakes. Corrections are always useful.

Öyle ise size iki forum daha tavsiye edebilirim, ama bunları da belki biliyorsunuzdur:

Biri, Word Reference:

http://forum.wordreference.com/

http://www.dilforum.com/

Ben ise Türk değilim; sorularınız olursa yardımcı olmaya çalışırım, ama Türkçeyi anadili olarak konuşanlar size daha sağlam bilgiler verebilir diye düşünüyorum.

Lucky you to study Turkish in Germany - I am not even able to get any textbook and depend solely on what I am able to find on the Internet with my studies.

(noting to self one more interesting loan word - «enteresan», teşekkürler!)
