I guess because of all the different forms a verb takes.

In English it`s easy.
For example a verb "to sit" which means "sjediti", which is an infinitive.

But when added to faces (I don`t know how do you call it in English, we call it "lica")... again it`s easy in English:

I sit/play/jump
you sit/play/jump
he/she/it sit/plays/jumps
we sit/play/jump
you sit/play/jump
they sit/play/jump

croatian:
ja sjedim/igram/skačem
ti sjediš/igraš/skačeš
on/ona/ono sjedi/igra/skače
mi sjedimo/igramo/skačemo
vi sjedite/igrate/skačete
oni/one/ona sjede/igraju/skaču

Hvala Ivana. but the problem is not the verb forms - we have it also in Portuguese. That part is ok !

The problem is something like let's say...giving you a concrete exemple of a verb pair (it could be only one verb not a pair) I don't know its meaning yet...

I don't know what nedostajati and nedostati mean. For some reason it has been far more difficult to fix the verb meanings (in this case in Portuguese) than nouns, let's say, e.g. mrak or luk.

Are you getting the point now ?

I understand.
That is why they say learning Croatian is pretty darn difficult :D

"Nedostajati" means "to miss somedone/something" and word "nedostati" is I guess just same forme of "nedostajati", but I can`t remember it. If I write it in a dictionary, it shows it as unexistent :D

"Nedostatno" means "unsufficient".
"Nedostaci" means "imperfections".
"Nedostatak" means "imperfection".

Do you have a sentence with a word "nedostati"?

Well I could say "Nedostajem te". But this happens with many different verbs...

"Nedostajem te" doesn`t exist.

If you are trying to say "I miss you", this is "nedostaješ mi"
If you are trying to say "You miss me", this is "Nedostajem ti"
