ъгъл = corner in Bulgarian (= угол in Russian, but in my Bъlgarian dictionary the ъ is put right after щ)
Yes, I had written Xadrez = Chess (in Portuguese) in the belief that I was writing in the Latin Alphabetic game. However I may have been justified even in posting it here, as the 'x' in Portuguese would rather sound like 'ш', and therefore the position according to the Cyrillic alphabet wouldn't be totally off the mark Edited by Iversen on 22 October 2009 at 2:35am 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Ъгъл is the only word in Bulgarian starting with -ъ-
I think there are no words in Russian starting with ы or ь, so we probably need a -э- word: электрон - electron, Russian ( ...unless somebody can think of a word in any other language that starts with ы or ь ) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
