Here is some Italian that I wrote for fun. Feel free to correct any mistakes :)

Ho
iniziato studiarlo perché voglio vivere in Italia. Ho la visitato nel 2006. Ho visto
Venezia, Firenze e Pisa.

I have rewritten the text below and corrected the errors that I noticed... I may not have caught all, though.

> A proposito di... io!

di me, I think.

> il spagnolo

lo spagnolo

> È il mio anno terzo

E' il mio terzo anno, sounds more natural

> il Italiano

l'italiano. languages names are not capitalized

> Ho la visitato nel 2006.

La ho visitato nel 2006. A compound verb sticks together, pronouns go on the outside.

> Questa estate andrò a Islanda, Spagna, Francia e Andorra

in Islanda, Spagna... with names of countries or regions we use in, with names of cities we use a.

ma non ci andrò. your intuition is correct to use a pronoun here, but the pronoun for places is ci.

I would have said "su di me"

> due animales

due animali

> Mi piace fare il hockey e il football canadese.

mi piace giocare a hockey e a football canadese

here you probably want to say "ma mi piacciono anche degli altri tipi", but to stay closer to what you wrote you could say "mi piace anche quella di altri tipi". for music you could also use genere in place of tipo

I disappeared for 3 weeks or so because of school, but today was the last day of class!
I still have a few outstanding, but not overdue, assignments, but things have more or
less slowed down for the semester. Theres a bit of a break before final exams, which
started today! Progress has been kind of slow, but now I have until September for some
solid language study!!

Italian
I haven't started Pimsleur II yet, but I think I will once exams have finished. Here is
a short composition I wrote about the summer. Feel free to point out and correct any
mistakes, but do not feel obligated!

Questa estate

Vi racconterò i miei progetti per l’estate. Prenderò un corso universitario questa
estate.
bene!

Andrò certamente in Islanda, Spagna, Francia e Andorra, però vorrei fare altri viaggi.

Spanish
Like usual, I feel I don't have much to say even though progress has been great. On the
last test I received a mark of 88%. I was really impressed by this result! Outside of
class I watched the movie "Vantage Point" dubbed into Spanish. I didn't understand it
as well as "James Bond - Casino Royal" but I suspect this is because the dialog was
spoken much faster. I still was able to enjoy the movie and understand a good amount of
the lines nonetheless. My mom got me a Spanish phrase book for my trip. (Lonely
Planet's Spanish: Essential Language for Short Trips - Fast Talk) I intend to memorize
the whole thing so I don't need to flip through the book while I'm there! Also, as part
of our mark in school, we had to do an oral examination. It consisted of a short skit
with a partner, followed by ten questions asked individually. The professor said our
skit was pretty good, and that I received a perfect score on the questions. Here's my
skit:

Me:      Sí, necesitas llamarla.
Parter: Bueno, voy a decirle.
Me:      ¿Qué vais a hacer hoy?
Parter: Nosotros vamos a ir al parque zoológico. Se gusta, pero ella tiene miedo
                   por los murciélagos.
Me:      No me gustan.
Parter: Sí, yo también. ¿Qué vas a hacer esta noche?
Me:      Voy a ir al bar con mis amigos. Hablaba con ellos todos las noches.
Parter: ¡No me jodas!
Me
                   aburro.
Parter: Pues… ¡chau!
Me:      Adiós.

Catalan
No he fet cap progrés aquesta setmana.
(It's kinda embarrassing, so if I write it in Catalan, less people will find out ;)
But tomorrow I might write a short composition and do some Catalan lessons. Even though
I'm in the early stages, I feel with a dictionary and googling some grammar rules I
might suffer though. I could even translate some Italian or Spanish to Catalan,
allowing me to see the differences and similarities firsthand.

Some other exciting news (I guess not really exciting and certainly not news...), but
I've signed up for Introductory German for this September. I have room for two
more electives besides my Chemistry and Spanish courses, so I might as well take
something worthwhile!

Edit: formatting

Here's my short Catalan composition that I promised yesterday. I wish I had something
interesting to write about. :p

En Català

Jo escric una composició curta avui. Visc a Canadà. Sóc un estudiant universitari de
química i espanyol.
França, l’Andorra i a València.

I admit that I had to rely on a dictionary to write this. To be frank, I find the
parla.cat course to be boring, and I feel I might be better off learning through
composition in addition to grammar and vocabulary study, instead of doing formal
lessons. I could mimic what I have studied in Spanish.

Short update tonight,

I had been very busy with university exams, but I am glad to say they are now finished.
Preparing for them kept me pretty busy. That meant that I worked hard on Spanish, but
let the other languages fall behind a bit. That also explains my lack of TAC updates
this month.

Spanish
I've got the mark back for the course: A-. Not too bad, considering it was a full year
course, and during the first semester I wasn't very interested in the language. This
summer I plan to finish the textbook used in the course; we only covered 2/3 of the
book. I suppose this might make the intermediate courses next year a little easier too.
I've been doing a lot of passive study lately: just watching movies dubbed into
Spanish. I find it so annoying that the subtitles don't match exactly the words being
spoken.

Italian
To be honest I don't really want to move on to the next Pimsleur series yet. Right now
I'm reading the book Il compagno don Camillo. I can speak and write decently,
but I don't have much reading practice yet.

Catalan
I haven't made any progress since my short composition. I'm tempted to buy the Teach
Yourself Catalan programme; I find studying on the computer too easily allows for me to
become distracted. (Wikipedia, HTLAL, Facebook...)

German
My friend, who is a German major, recently gave me his introductory German text book
since I'll be taking the course in September. It looks interesting and I bet it'll be a
challenge!

Spanish
No formal progress since my last update. I have been conversing whenever possible;
however.

Italian
I'm still reading Il compagno don Camillo. I find it takes me a few minutes to
get into Italian mode, but reading aloud expediates the process. Flipping through the
dictionary got annoying, so now I just Google Translate when I don't know a word. I
think it's a great tool since you don't even have to press Submit, it just translates
the word instantaneously.

Catalan
Well, Catalan sure took the cake this week. It took me a couple evenings, but I'm now
fully confident with the present, perfect, periphrastic, imperfect, passé composé, and
future tenses for ar, re/er, and ir verbs + anar (all in the indicative mood). I've
also made myself several hundred flash cards to build up vocabulary.

I think this week I'll try out some compositions in all three languages, work on
Catalan vocabulary, read Italian, and perhaps do some Italian verbs (which I've let
fall behind). I need to do some Spanish too.

Here are two short compositions about my dog. They are written in Spanish and Catalan.
I had planned to write in Italian too, but I've run out of time, so I'll hopefully post
it tomorrow.

no li agraden.
