List your goals here!! We have 12 months everyone!

List as many goals as you'd like (and can stay dedicated to!) Use this thread as motivation for 2010!

My Goals:
Reach Advanced Fluency in Spanish
Reach basic fluency in German (maybe even high-basic!)
Reach high basic fluency in Brazilian Portuguese (This should be pretty easy, I'm pretty fluent in Spanish, and Portuguese is pretty straight forward.)

Mini Goals
Learn 3-5 new words (AND USE THEM!) everyday for each language
Finish Harry Potter en español.
Finish Spanish Made Simple, German: How to Speak and Write it, Berlitz Self Teachers for both Portuguese and German, Rescatado, Painless Spanish, FSI Portuguese, FSI German, and The Ultimate Spanish Study and Review.
Watch 5 movies in Spanish/German with no subtitles (and understand them).
SPEAK AS MUCH AS I CAN. :D

It's almost the end of 2009 and now might be a good time to indicate what our language learning goals are for 2010.

As for me I want to get my German to a point where I can read comfortably. I want to maintain my French where it is as I have done for the last two years. I would also like to improve my grammar in Spanish as that is the big thing that is holding me back from conversing more fluently.

Have a great year.

EDIT: I merged threads on the same topic. - Eric

- Learn all the Jōyō Kanji (via Heisig's Remembering the Kanji plus Skritter). Finish Assimil Japanese, and work with other courses as I see fit.

- Learn all the Chinese characters in Heisig's Remembering Simplified Hanzi I using Skritter, and hopefully the second volume will be published sometime this year. Complete Integrated Chinese, Chinese Language and Culture. Listen to and work through at least one episode of ChinesePod every day.

- Expand my vocabulary in French and German using Anki.

- Read entire books in French and German.

- Listen to my target languages often.

- Work on my Spanish when there's time left over.

- Keep pushing the limits of advanced fluency in Arabic
- Get to basic fluency in Russian
- Pick up essential Pashto!

No more than three goals or else I get lost.

Korean - middle intermediate is the goal for 2010.
Japanese - low intermediate is the goal for 2010.

More specifically:
Korean - Finish Continuing Korean (almost done), finish Korean Grammar for International Learners (by spring semester end), read with better speed and more on comprehension, finish 6,000 vocab handbook I have by June, being able to chat with Koreans in Korean (I chat with them a lot in English), start reading books, watch more shows raw and unsubbed (probably just variety shows this year), conversation over the Internet, and more.

Japanese - finish Japanese For Everyone by the end of January, go through Tae Kim's grammar guide in February, have RTK 1 done by the end of May, start reading in Japanese, work through RTK2 on the side (mainly as a reference, not gonna go through the whole book most likely), watching what anime I have without subs (or ignoring them on some DVDs), chatting with Japanese people in Japanese on a limited basis, go through Dictionary of Basic and Intermediate Japanese grammar by summer's end, conversation over the Internet, and more.

What I plan on doing everyday:
Korean - continue watching dramas and variety shows, more listening, chorusing, learning vocabulary, and doing the scriptorium. Chatting with people if time permits.
Japanese - same as Korean + kanji.

Korean is my focus though. Probably throughout the spring semester, it'll be 50/50 on time spent, but during summer vacation, probably 70/30 in favor of Korean, and probably the fall semester too. Then in December, I'll probably focus on Japanese 80/20, depending on when I have to take placement tests for languages when I transfer to a four-year university.
