I have written a lot about parallel texts and translation in general in part 2 of my language learning guide, - also about the trick that can make bilingual interlaced files from a Google translated page (which actually has become one of my preferred tools for cracking new languages). But I didn't know about the software mentioned at page one when I wrote that guide.

If all you need are corresponding paragraphs, the LeoBilingua software bzoh linked to earlier lets you do that in a matter of minutes if you know what you're doing.
Dividing the text into smaller chunks for beginners takes longer than that. MakeBiLingua is also useful, but it doesn't automate the process the way LeoBilingua does it. Edited by Kubelek on 04 February 2010 at 11:15am 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

If I sounded cocky blame it on my imprefect English. How does one use LeoBilingua? I downloaded it but haven't been able to figure it out yet. All the contents under help are in Russian, which I can't speak yet. Is there a way to box off the paragraphs? And how to I get both sides to scroll down in synch?
