Revolutionary socialist. Yes, really.
Organizing within immigrant communities, participating in international conferences, translating articles for working-class newspapers, working with comrades from various nationalities, studying different writers in their original languages (Marx in German, Lenin in Russian, Gramsci in Italian, Che in Spanish, Mao in Mandarin, Tito in Serbo-Croatian, Fanon in French, etc.)...and of course getting forced into exile can be an attractive prospect for the polyglot. Simply put, it doesn't get more internationalist than the revolutionary left, so it's perfect for the language enthusiast.
The only problem is it doesn't pay all that well...yet.
