The pronunciation is very difficult, and there are many false friends
( for example PRAVDA means THE TRUTH in Russian, but THE JUSTICE in Croatian)

I wouldn't say it's difficult for all speakers of Slavic languages. I do not study Russian myself but I have many friends that have chosen Russian for their second (after English) foreign language because it is fairly easy for them. My sister that was forced to learn Russian in the primary school enjoyed it very much since for her it was one of the easiest classes. I am able to understand the gist of Russian conversation or even more if I focus. I tend to classify Russian as an uncomplicated language. Of course it is only from my perspective.

Croatian. The orthography is Italian-easy as is pronounciation after you can wrap your
head around words like prst, vrlo, and trg. and I was able to be understood without much
previous study on my trip there.

For a native English speaker the Croatian phonetics is still very difficult.

Not for the speakers of Scottish English. Croatian KRK (the name of an island) sounds like the Scottish pronunciation of KIRK (a male name or a local word for church) ;)

Americans pronounce the R's in the American way, and they are understood. Many people find it cute ;)

I speak Czech, Slovak and Russian fluently, plus I understand Ukrainian. I have also been learning Polish. From my comparative experience, Slovak seems to be the easiest.

Why do you think so? Could you tell us what makes it easier?

Slovak just seems more regular and has less declensions. Also the spelling and pronunciation seem easier...
