It's been a rough week for studying. Work has become more hectic and thusly, I have not had the time to study. I
just recently watched a video from Prof. Arguelles about extensive reading, and while it was basically all stuff that I
already intuitively knew, it gave me some motivation to try and start reading, again. I have L'etranger and also a
book of short stories that I may try to start to read in the next week. I'm hoping to get back to regular studying
again so that I can finish off the passive wave and move forward.

J'ai besoin travailler à mon comprehension de l'audition. Je peux lire et parle avec quelque facilité, mais
comprendre les mots parlé est dificile pour moi. J'ai commencé ecouter de la radio française et j'espere que je peux
améliorer mon comprehension comme ça.
Aussi, je ne sais pas ce que mon équipe a fait, mais je n'ai pas vu un post en quelques temps. Où êtes-vous, mon
équipe?

So I've had a rough go of it as of late. I don't seem to have the drive to study, I have been managing to keep on with
MT and I started working with LWT through Fi3M which was interesting, but not terribly productive in the short
term, clearly. I need to get myself back into Assimil this week, so I can get through the main program, I would like
to do the Using French program, but at this point I will not have time to finish both so my goal is the first program.
I'm a little annoyed that my motivation waned this late into the year, but I am very happy with my current level of
French and know that I can start to move into books and continue my acquisition that way.

In the last couple of weeks I have started to focus on my listening and reading. I upgraded my LingQ account so
that I can fully use it. I must say that I like it quite a bit. I wanted to start intensive reading but did not have the
means to do so; the pop-up dictionary and built in audio on LingQ fit these needs perfectly. I have noticed that my
spoken French has become more and more natural and I look forward to my last push this year over the next 2 and
a half months or so.

I have been focusing solely on reading and listening comprehension for the last couple of weeks and I have pulled my reading comprehension up to probably about an upper intermediate level. My listening is still a bit behind my reading, although that is based on listening to Europe 1; in conversation I understand considerably more than I do when listening to the radio. I am going to continue to focus on reading and writing as I come to the end of this mission. At this point, I am treating my reading as vocabulary expansion and find it encouraging that I am able to consistently remember new words in a relatively short amount of time.
Come the turn of the year, I will be starting my new language mission. This will be the first full-term mission for me as I started my French journey in April. In January, I am going to begin my quest to be fluent in German in one year's time. I have most of my resources lined up already and I am very excited for this new mission. The most interesting aspect of the coming mission for me is that I have no previous background in German outside of my singing. With both French and Italian I took a semester or two of classes to give myself a base before branching out on my own. I am looking forward to the new challenge and will start a new log for German as the time for my mission approaches.

It's been a while since I have written anything. At this point I am nearing the end of my intensive French studies. I am very content with my progress in French over the last 8 months and feel rather comfortable conversing in a variety of different areas. I also put my reading level in French at around 90-95% (based on newspaper article tests). I look forward to German beginning in about two weeks and hope to see even greater progress made in that language since I will be spending a whole year on it instead of eight months.
This post marks the end of you TAC for 2011. I do not think I will be keeping a TAC log for 2012, so if you want to follow my German progress you will have to go over to my blog. Thanks for reading!
