Team KEN maybe dismantling this year (it is so sad!) but I will be following your log
still :D

You made amazing strides last year in learning French which resulted in your burn out
this year. I am impressed with the way you handled it by stopping learning languages
for a bit to build up the love again.

And here you are, back on track and ready to pick up the gauntlet again :D

I'm really looking forward to seeing your progress in 2012 Adrean. What you managed to
achieve last year was nothing short from amazing. So I hope you get to repeat your
great strides next year :D

Just a quick wrap up post for the year that was.

I started the new year in France and coming home after several years away in Europe I
knew that things would be different especially in regards to language learning. I'd
accomplished a lot of the goals that a language learner generally has (i:e Dalf C1,
living and working in the country). So 2011 was going to be a quiet one. Nevertheless
doing things in French had become a habit and I carried on watching films, listening to
podcasts and reading books.

In 2011 I watched 62 French films, I read 6 books (below) and listened to more then
200+ hours of podcasts. Amongst other things

Une Poignee de gens (Anne Wiazemsky)
Hymnes a l'amour (Anne Wiazemsky)
Backpacker Australia Generation Baroudeur
Cinq Semaines en Ballon (Jules Verne)
La Psychologie du Bonheur (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi)
La Peste (Albert Camus)

In 2011 I took my first steps in German. I sped through Michel Thomas. I slowly but
surely advanced through Pimsleur and Assimil. I joined a class an evening class. I
dabbled in a 100 other things not worth mentioning. Conclusion for 2011 - still very
much a beginner.

Thanks to my team mates in Team KEN. You were an endless source of motivation and
keep me coming back to these forums!
