I would definitely choose 'ну'.It's a very common word which basically means 'well,...' but sometimes it also means 'да','yes'.

-Ты будешь пить?
-Ну!

-Will you have a drink?
-By all means,yes!

Would it be possible for you to make a vocal recording of those two lines? I'd like to hear the natural intonation they're "supposed" to have.

Thanks. It might not seem like much, but the getting the "natural" intonation is often the hardest part of learning a new language, and every little bit helps!

представляешь! = can you imagine! (when you are talking about something strange/funny/astonishing etc)
прикинь! = slang version of "представляешь!"
ничего себе! (sometimes pronounced as "ничосе!") = oh my! oh dear! wow!
ух ты! = ничего себе!

A Russian's favourite word must be фиг and it is slang.This word must have a dozen or more meanings.
Here are some:

1.нифига себе!Same as ничего себе!=wow!
2.На фига? .Same as зачем?=What for?
3.Фиг получишь.You are not getting anything.Often accompanied by the special Russian gesture,something like the 'finger' in English but it is not considered that vulgar.
4.Дo фига.A great quantity of something,a lot of.
5.Иди нафиг.Get lost.
6.фиг is the noun офигеть is the verb.
Oфигеть! Awesome!
Ты совсем офигел?Are you out of your mind?
офигительная машина =what a car!
7.фигня=something that does not make sense.
что это за фигня?What the hell is this?
8.мне пофиг =мне все равно=I don't care.

Some of these expressions might sound rude in English,but I think in Russian they just sound like everyday slang that all people use from time to time.

If you want to sound very rude you can replace фиг in all the above examples with another very common word which I cannot say here.

To add my 2 cents to this topic:

Common conversational fillers::

ну ---> well
ну и что! ---> so what!
вот ---> here (it is); there you have it
так /итак / значит ---> so
вот так ---> like so; like this
вот и всё ---> that's it
то есть ---> that is (to say); so
давай ---> come on
может быть ---> maybe; supposedly; "I guess so"

так сказать ---> so to speak
как говорится ---> as the saying goes
честно говоря ---> honestly
скажем ---> let's say
допустим ---> let's suppose

в основном ---> basically
в общем ---> in general
в принципе ---> in principle
дело в том, что ---> the point is
на всякий случай ---> just in case
кстати ---> by the way

...что ли? /не так ли? --->...,is it?;...,right? /...,isn't it?

Some common colloquial conversational phrases:

Понятия не имею! ---> I have no idea!
Что ты? ---> What's wrong with you?
Давай не смеши! ---> Don't be ridiculous!
Как бы ни так! ---> Far from it!; Nonsense!
Ещё бы!---> You bet!; Hell yeah!
Споки ноки! ---> Nighty night!
Ни пуха ни пера! ---> Good luck! (and the common answer is "К чёрту!" meaning "To hell") :-P
