When I first read the shopping dialogue without knowing much of the language, I thought, "Huh? What's all this about husbands and 5 o'clock?" But when I read the dialogue with the translation, it made perfect sense.
And, as rapp thought, the cartoon is completely unrelated to the dialogue, same as most of the cartoons. Actually, it's quite good because they use the same phrase to make a different point! The cartoon looks more like a classroom, though. EDIT: It was only about 3 weeks ago that I first read the dialogue, by the way. It is just a guess. The customer has asked questions about a couple of items in the store, not really seeming interested in the answers, and then kind of out-of-the-blue asks what time it is. The shopkeeper guesses that the woman is really just waiting for someone as opposed to actually earnestly shopping. And the customer then confirmed the guess.
