This is so funny. Are there any stereotypes about people who learn Norwegian, or are we considered so

similarly to Finnish, many young Russians would assume you love black metal/are a satanist (jk). most people here will think you wanna move to the prosperous country.

Thai
You want the "Thai" price for goods when visiting Thailand |
This might come as a shock but no farang will ever get a Thai price regardless of how well
they speak Thai. At best, you can bargain down to a respectable level. |
Yes Accept that, but being able to read the Thai numerals helped once, because they posted the "Thai" price in Thai numerals so I got them to give it to me.

If a farang happens to look like he or she might be Thai, do Thai vendors have psychic powers to know otherwise? |
I have only seen it work when the farang doesn't say much. The more you say...the more they notice the accent. Thats my experience. My friend, who has vietnamese parents(Australian by birth), walked right into the grand palace for free(it usually costs us farangs money to get in) and didn't say a word to make them think he wasn't Thai.

I think that there are a lot of stereotypes about people who learn French, at least here
in the states - that we are all obsessed with film, or art or cinema. People think
French is the language of love or that it's "so beautiful" or "so sophisticated". I
find this ridiculous and kind of annoying. It's just a language, people!!

Afrikaans--you read that's Charlize Theron's first language, and you think there might be other women like her in South Africa because, let's face it, you have no chance with her...
