From now on, I will translate all of my blog posts into English, since people on my TAC teams don't necessarily speak Spanish or Catalan.

Well, I guess since it's now 2012 (and has been for a little while), I will write out my goals and plans for each language I am studying. I think I'm going to do one post for each language, just because I tend to get lost when reading long posts...
Spanish Current Level: C1-C2 (estimated) I don't really ever have a problem speaking Spanish in any situation. My vocabulary is big enough that I can say anything I want, and my grammar is usually pretty okay. Also, I've always had a pretty good accent, to the point where sometimes (every once in a while) people are surprised to hear that I'm not Spanish (it helps that there are so many different accents within Spain...). However, whenever I am reading I notice that there are always words that I am not familiar with, as well as cultural references. And there is always room for improvement in grammar, pronunciation, oral comprehension, writing, etc. Goals I don't have too many specific goals for Spanish -- I just want to continue to improve. Until I reach "native fluency", I can always do better. I think I might take the C2 DELE test in May or November (I have to take it at some point), and if I do, I want to pass it! (Knock on wood.) Plan Again, not too many specific plans. If I do end up taking the DELE, I will work through this DELE practice book I have (called C2 DELE Superior in case anyone's curious) and look at the DELE website to get a feel for the test. Besides that, I plan on continuing to read books and magazines in Spanish, watching Spanish TV shows, talking with Spanish friends here, etc. Since it is so close to Spain, Andorra has a lot of Spanish presence, so Spanish is a big part of my life here. También, si te apetece escribir en español de vez en cuando siempre habrá otros por aquí que lo leerán y responderán. Siempre es un placer leer buen español. ¡Que tengas un año genial con tus idiomas y que aprendas mucho! Por cierto, ¿conoces algunos buenos programas españoles? Necesito algo bueno que ver. Hola, encantade de veer alguien escribir en catalan. Yo desgraciadamente no lo hablo, pero entre el frances y el espanol entiendo bastante cuando lo veo escrito. Estoy segura de que vas a aprender el frances muy rapido!

¡Muchas gracias por escribir! Solfrid, me alegro de que te guste el catalán (hay quien dice que suena feo); algún día lo tendrás que aprender. Seguro que con tu nivel de español y francés no te costará. Vos, por lo que veo, ¡tú también dominas el español! En cuanto a programas españoles, ¿qué tipo de programas te interesan? A mí me gustan Qué vida más triste, Salvados, La tira, y Pasapalabra. Ojalá tuviera una tele, ya que nos llegan muchos canales españoles y franceses aquí en Andorra. En principio, vine a Andorra porque me dieron una beca. Pero ahora me quiero quedar; es un país increíble. La vida aquí es muy diferente de la de mi ciudad grande de los EEUU, y además aquí puedo seguir practicando español y catalán (y aprender francés). Eres demasiado amable con tu alabanza, pero gracias. Creo que todavía me quedan unos años de sólido estudio
antes de que pueda decir que hablo y conocer la lengua bien. Pero estoy en camino. ¿Cuál tipos de programas me gustan?... Cualquier programa que sea bueno. Pero los de lengua inglesa que más me gustan son Breaking Bad, Lost, Dexter (los dos primeras temporadas), IT Crowd, Louis Theroux, Grand Designs, QI, los que presenta David Attenborough, programas así. Muchas gracias por tus recomendaciones, las comprobaré cuando tenga tiempo. ¿Entonces estás estudiante o artísta de algún tipo? Qué buen sitio para practicar y aprender los idiomas. Estoy de acuerdo en lo de Andorra, es un lugar único, con las montañas y tal. En Andorra se siente como si fuera un meeting place de culturas y eso va bien porque siempre puedes aprender algo más, siempre puedes hacer una cosa diferente. Y para mi, y es lo más importante, puedes ir en bici por todos los puertos que forman y formaron parte de Le Tour de France. Bueno, con escribir estas palabras ya tengo ganas de volver, pero me quedo aqui en Barcelona esta semanita, quiza tengo suerte la próxima vez que vengo y puedo ir a por las montañas...

Ahir em vaig adonar que si parlo amb algú que dubta de la meva capacitat de parlar català (i suposo que deu ser així per les altres llengües també), el parlo molt pitjor que si estigués parlant amb algú que o no sap que sóc estrangera, o no mostra cap dubte sobre el meu nivell de català.
Per exemple, ahir vaig conèixer una dona francesa, i quan me la van presentar, ella els va demanar si jo entenia el català. (Molts francesos aquí només parlen francès i català, i dels anglesos que viuen aquí n'hi ha molts que només parlen anglès i francès, així que hi havia una raó per demanar això...) Els meus amics li van dir que sí, que em parlés en català, però després quan li vaig començar a parlar, no em surtien les paraules, o em surtien malament. En canvi, normalment no tinc cap problema per parlar amb els amics, amb els companys de feina o de la meva classe de català, amb gent que no conec, etc. 1 person has voted this message useful |
