No idea what part of my reply you perceived as "trolling" and why. I'm stating my experience here:
- You can read until you're blue in the face and never be able to speak, nor recognize it when spoken
- You can listen/speak until you're blue in the face and never be able to read/write it.
Sure, if you know a word's pronunciation and how to write it (hand or typing), that's more details to the memory representing that term, thus reinforcing the fact, but that's after you already established its existence and made sure those details you're about to add are correct.
IMHO:
No, you can't automatically pronounce Japanese words correctly, if you only read them. Not one, not one hundred Japanese girlfriends, wives, mother-in-laws will enable you to. Japanese is not as regular as you make it look like. You will get pretty close, and maybe that's what you hear or what the people surrounding you will accredit as correct (for several reasons), and if that's already okay with you, great.
Don't be offended so easily, I didn't mean to attack YOU. I just disagreed with what you WROTE, and not even completely. Let's make peace here and if need be, agree to disagree.
