Hi, I am currently trying to gather the best learning programs I can for the following
languages (which I plan to learn on the next years), and as you guys know finding them usually aren't very easy, so that is why I am asking for advices based on previous experiences on which one to get. Target languages: German, French, Spanish and Italian. For each of the languages I've gathered the following so far: German Assimil - German Without Toil (1981) Linguaphone - The old ones from 1990 Blaue Blume - The revision in Portuguese French Assimil - French Without Toil (1940) Assimil - New French With Ease Oxford Take it Off In French - A friend borrowed me these Spanish Assimil - Spanish Without Toil (1940) Italian Assimil - Italian Without Toil (1940) Which courses do you guys think I am missing for the languages mentioned? I just don't want to throw money neither time away on useless courses and I know we need more than one course to make the learning process really good, so any help is really appreciated. Thanks. Add some Michel Thomas courses. Also you can throw in some Colloquial or Teach Yourself books.

Thanks for your replies.

Consider FSI for German, French, and Spanish. I've used them and recommend them highly.

Yes.
Most recs you got are English-based, I don't recommend them for the Romance languages. Before ordering, try to sample the courses for free - on the official sites (Michel Thomas), at the library etc. I'm not even a native speaker of a Romance language, but I use a Spanish-Italian dictionary :D I'd say that's especially important for Spanish. Portuguese-based coursebooks are likely to be 3549786485x better. For you, I mean. Obviously not for American or British learners :D For German, Deutsche Welle is a fantastic resource.
