I'd actually be in for such a challenge. But yeah, apart from Lang-8, I don't know where to receive corrections.. and I'd feel bad if I couldn't do as many in return. Time is the problem here.. :S

I had suggested another separate writing challenge (still 100 writings) last week, because I thought
combining that much writing with so many movies and books would prove to be too much and we wouldn't
have many crossing the finish line (I know that would be the case for me). Truthfully, I'm still unsure about it.
There seems to be some interest in it, but everyone has different ideas on what they'd like the challenge to
actually be, and whether it should be done here or on Lang-8. I was in favor of having it here, but really, it
could be done on Lang-8. The problem then becomes: how do we notify people here to correct our writing on
Lang-8? And if it's on Lang-8, how do we keep track of everyone's progress?

I wanted to start it June 1, and end the end of November. I think that 100 written pieces in 6 months should
definitely be doable.

I agree with you, writing it's very important in a language learning progress. We can do a writing challenge,
write in Lang-8,add others as a friends ,and notify to people in the topic We created to writing challenge. Is it
this possible? I'm new in this forum and in Lang-8 so Im not sure .

For the record, I'd be down for a writing challenge, as long as the texts could be relatively short. It would be cool if we could pick more than one language to do it in, too (like 50 in language A and 50 in language B, or 33-33-34, etc.)

Yes, it's a good idea. In my case I'll do 50 essays in French and 50 in English.

Good stuff. I'm not doing the essays part of the challenge but there's some great
material for self-talk exercises there.
