"write or speak like this"??? How do they "speak like this"? I would say writing this way is a clear sign of under-education, and usually most people stop typing like this when getting past their teens... As for Le Petit Prince "phonetic" transcription, it suffers things like "ay" which in French would not be pronounced "aille" but "eille"... 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

You need desperately to learn all the phonemes of the French language, the IPA transcription and the rules that govern the French spelling. French Spelling Rules Search for "Le Français par la «Méthode Nature - scribd". That's the whole scan of a course with more than 1,000 pages text of French text with IPA transcriptions underneath each line. Knowing just the phonemes is not enough if you want to speak with a good accent. Phonemes are defined in such a way that you can distinguish all the words, but knowing the phonemes alone is not enough to recreate the original sound.
