Native speakers of Slavic languages probably find it easier to understand what cases are, but articles are a strange concept for us, and even when you're used to them because of English, the thought that the article is declined according to the case&gender is just crazy XD I found the cases in Latin and Finnish much easier.

Whether you're a Pimsleur fan or not, this sentence is complete nonsense and makes me
doubt that you've even listened to the course.

Yeah, Pimsleur dialogues are actually made for 80's pickup artists.

I use Pimsleur (get it from the library), and it has certainly helped me so far. It isn't my primary learning tool by any stretch of the imagination, though; I use Anki, Memrise, GLOSS, Barron's Language Books, and miscellaneous Spanish textbooks from the library, as well as regularly listen to the radio in my foreign language (you can listen to virtually any radio channel in the world in any country for free if you have a smartphone...the app is called TuneIn Radio), watch Spanish TV shows (mostly on YouTube), and converse (or attempt to) with Spanish speakers as often as possible whenever I go out.

There are literally TONS of ways to learn a foreign language these days, and no extra money is even required. Just a library card can get you access to tons of resources, as well as internet if you don't have a computer or internet access at home. But shoot, if you have a laptop, just take that badboy to your local coffee shop and learn away, free of charge.

I love living in this era.
