Question for those who know.

Yesterday I went by this carnicería and was trying to speak to one of the employees and I attempted to say to her that I try to speak Spanish whenever I can. But, what came out of my mouth was "Yo trato hablar español a todos los tiempos". I felt like I was understood. What should I have said to her?

thanks in advance for the help. 48 hours and I will be on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta. I cannot wait.

You could try:
"Intento (or trato de) hablar español siempre que puedo (or siempre que tengo la oportunidad)"

I wanted to drop a quick post while I am in Mexico. The resort is awesome! The staff is very patient and two
waiters have adopted me for my Spanish learning. They help me with corrections and I have had my head in
Madrigals majic key for Spanish. The food and weather as awesome and I am avoiding almost All English
with staff and my wife is helping me where I make mistakes too. An awesome experience so far!

Well, the trip was wonderful. If you ever want excellent service, the Gran Velas resort in Nayarit is the place to go.

I spent most of the trip talking with the wait staff and people at the local markets. It really made me realize how far I have to go!

Now that my vacation is over, I am back at the salt mine for my learning.

Vocab words chosen from a native Spanish book; Work the Iversen list method; Listen to the audio of the book; Duolingo; Listen to native speakers via my wife and friends and also news/movies; madrigal's magic key to Spanish; Talk when and where I can.

I will start counting the hours I am studying. I will not count passive listening as study time even though I think it is important and will be doing it. If I could complete 450 hours of Active study by years end, my guess is that I would be conversational to the point that it is not painful to the person speaking with me. Regardless, no matter what level I am at after 450 hours of study, I will be much further along than I am now.

Still trucking along. Wordlist, Duolingo, reading, listening, speaking when I can. In addition to the activities mentioned, I continue to watch Destinos almost every day. I am on Episode 36. I don't know how much I am learning, but I do like it.

Again, I only count the hours working on Wordlist, Reading, Translating, or listening with text (ie. Assimil). All passive listening, Destinos and small conversations with my wife/ others are not counted. Adelante!

I saw someone else try this idea. Find a newspaper article that you don't understand, put it in a dated envelope, and in 6 months take it out and see if it's any easier.
