The beginner comment was for the German course :P
The reviewer was disappointed that it was lower than B1.

The french one has some theatre-style dialogues as a final disc which looked like you
could get your teeth into them. I can't comment further as I don't have it with me and I
haven't begun to learn with it.

My copy was actually incorrectly packed and I am missing this final disc. If someone
reading this will take pity on my I would greatly appreciate the audio for this disc, and
I have paid for the rest of the course legally. If you could send it in an email to
liam.porter@gmail.com I would be delighted.

Now I wish I had bought it when Lidl had it for £5. I doubt I would go through the
course, but I think I would use the audio for some comprehensible input.

I just bought the German course.

It is being sold new by a seller for £6.5 +shipping. If you ask the seller nicely, you
might
be able to get it shipped internationally.

I´m glad someone has taken my tip, although I repeat that I can´t vouch even for the
quality of the edition of the series (French) that I own, since I have only ever leafed
through it to confirm that it would be suitable for shadowing, for when I turn to French.
The audio seems like good no-nonsense, uninterrupted L2, albeit with large pauses. Let me
know what you think of it, Gemuse.

Got it today.

Review:
The approach of the book is to try to cement everyday sentence structures and phrases
as a unit in the learners head. It also presents grammar inside the lessons after the
dialogues, and also a vocabulary used in the lesson. It explains things more than
Assimil. It is like a textbook-Assimil mix. Audio is entirely in German.

The level of the book goes up to, and including A2.1 (so unfortunately the reviewer was
right). The audio speed goes upto A1.2. People who are studying for A2.2 might still
find the course useful if their audio comprehension is lagging behind. Beyond A2.2,
this course is too basic. As my audio is lagging, I will find the course useful. But I
also really, really wish they had a follow up course. That would have been awesome.

I would recommend this before Assimil.

Book printed in Germany, on pulp fiction kind of paper.
