Is Beyond the Basics different than LL Ultimate Advanced?
Specifically for German.

In the case of Spanish there is some difference, but they are almost the same. Beyond the basics has better audio quality.

The Spanish courses are set up similarly, but they are totally different. The French ones are different also so I would imagine German has different courses also.

I have just double checked comparing random lessons and the dialogues in Living Language Spanish beyond the basics and Living Language Advanced Spanish course book are almost identical. A few names and sentences are different but about 90 per cent is the same.
However, if Living Language ULTIMATE Advanced Spanish is different from Living Language Advanced Spanish, then it's a different situation.

I was referring to comparison between Beyond the Basics and Ultimate Advanced. They are indeed very different (and very well worth the effort to work with). I believe there is a new course that is a copy of the "Ultimate" series. I don't know what it is called, but by the sounds of it it is likely the course Hungringo refers to.

Yes, perhaps the LL Ultimate Advanced and LL Advanced courses are different. I have only the Advanced one without the "Ultimate" in the title.

Can you guys post ISBN numbers of LL Advanced? I'm totally confused now.
James29 seems to be implying there are 4 books:
LL Ultimate German Beginner-Intermediate
LL Ultimate German: Advanced Course
LL Advanced
LL Beyond the basics
LL Ultimate German Advanced and Beyond the basics seem to have similar descriptions:
"Ultimate German Advanced course contains a 400+ page book with eight 60-minute CDs
covering 20 lessons."
Beyond the basics: "20 lessons..." on books cover. an 83-page grammar review (the LL
Ultimate advanced also has a grammar review.

Sorry, Gemuse, I didn't want to confuse you. What I can say that ISBN 9781400021611 LL Spanish Beyond the Basics, 384 p. 20 lessons, and don't know how long audio CD is ALMOST identical with ISBN 9780609804506 LL Advanced Spanish (please note there is no ULTIMATE in the title) 20 lessons, 320 p. The content of the audio CD coming with these 2 books is almost identical, but they were recorded by different actors.
PS: On the back of LL Advanced Spanish says "Also available Living Language Ultimate Spanish", so it must be different.
