Is there a good way to shadow and/or LR using news (for example) with audio and text in both L1 and L2?

You don't mention which L2 you're interested in, but going by your profile it might be Spanish?

If so, BBC and Euronews offer bilingual text and audio to some of their news stories. BBC isn't as easy as Euronews is as far as gathering material, but it's doable. They're short news stories, for the most part, so they shouldn't take up a lot of time.

The only drawback I see is that the news is often read so fast.

Hello Chicken Monster,*

this site may be of interest to you:

Slow news in Spanish

* the last time I actually said those three exact words ("Hello Chicken Monster") was in a really weird dream.

I've heard of that site. Is it free?

Dare I ask about the dream?
