Well, the first step has been to learn how to write Italian in Cyrillic :D

If you still want to scratch the Romanian itch, why not start learning Russian using a course meant for Romanians? (look under "limba rusa")

Well, I agree that Romanian isn't the best choice if your real goal are the Slavic

I sincerely cannot wait to start.
But I'm not studying a lot my other languages so the start of this project can delay. And I still have an endless queue of languages that I cannot start in addition (but this is another story). 1 person has voted this message useful | |

She told me that the more I delay the start of the project the less probable makes it to actually take place. Now I feel the need to delay again. I bought 3 resources (1 for Dutch, Spanish and French) and I guess that it's better to go through them before to buy other resources and putting more effort in a new target language. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Aww, no, I've just seen many learners on HTLAL over the years. If you feel the need to narrow it down to 3-5 languages (those you mentioned +English and... Lithuanian?), by all means, go for it. These are immediately useful for you (well, not Lithuanian :P), so if you keep that up you can surpass me in a year or two ;) (although my Spanish and Italian will also be at basic fluency sooner or later)
Basically, if you don't feel a scorching need for Russian, maybe it's better to continue working on your main three langs. Russian will be a huge commitment and you may feel like you're going nowhere, until suddenly you're somewhere :) However, there will always be one more resource, book, podcast, whatever. Don't aim to "finish everything". Don't start a new language if you're not sure you want it, but don't be afraid of starting either. 2 persons have voted this message useful |
