I did Assimil Italian lesson 59 and I reviewed the last 15 lessons. For Assimil Chinese, I did lesson 12 and I listened to all the previous lessons. Regarding Romanian, I did lesson 14(review lesson) and I listened to all the previous lessons. I also spoke with my mom on the phone in Romanian/Serbian and I learned a couple of new words, and the fact that I have to say for example "ne uităm" (we watch/are watching), instead of just "uităm" (we forget). I found that writing out the kanji helps me to remember them, even though I doubt that I'll ever write out Japanese longhand. So I'd definitely agree that it's a helpful technique. 2 persons have voted this message useful | ||||||

Just thought I'd point out that you can use any spelling of Caesar in the title, like the Italian Cesare or Romanian Cezar ;) The one you're using is actually Spanish/Portuguese, although if you like it this way, that's obviously fine :) 2 persons have voted this message useful | ||||||

I went back home for the weekend and did absolutely no formal studying, mostly because I forgot to bring my Assimil and Colloquial books with me. I returned last night and did an Assimil lesson for each language. I did spend some time talking with my mom in Romanian on Skype and I listened to some songs, but that can't make up for the lost time. I gotta get back on track as soon as possible. I also started using SRS again. The main focus is on Romanian, but I'm also putting in Italian and Chinese words, as well as some English legal and business words, since I'm gonna need them for my classes. I noticed a weird (at least to me) thing happening when I learn a new word. It just keeps popping up, while when I didn't know its meaning, it's like I never heard it before, but I'm sure I did. An example from two days ago was the English word "radish". I was never focused on learning words for vegetables, and I don't know all of them even in my native language. I put the word in SRS and it took me like a minute to remember it for good thanks to mnemonics. 30 minutes after that, I watched a British show called QI, and one of the guests mentioned "radish". I was thunderstruck. What a coincidence! This isn't the first time that this happened, and I'm sure it will happen many more times.
