Dear Japanese language aficionados,

welcome to Team 旅立ち (Tabidachi, Japanese for 'take off') home thread! This is where we can discuss everything concerning our team and our progress in learning Japanese. This is the place to encourage each other, ask questions about Japan, its language and culture, and arrange Skype sessions, monthly challenges, or whatever we think of.

How does TAC work?

The goal of the TAC (Total Annihilation Challenge) is to stay focused on your target language(s) for a whole year. How much studying you do is up to you. The important thing is doing something, keeping track, and reporting about your progress in your log.

If you face difficulties or problems, the team is here to help you. That’s why there are more advanced learners and beginners in each team. We should follow each other’s logs, comment on them, and encourage our team mates in order to keep each other motivated. As mentioned above, both Skype and monthly challenges are great ways to keep the team together, so I hope we can do at least some.

Everyone who would like to become a member of this team, please sign up in the common TAC 2014 Sign-Up Thread, or if we don't notice you, please do so here or write directly either to me or the team captain! Once you're in, we'll link your personal TAC log from here. This post will finally (and regularly!) be updated with the names and logs of our members.

So, about time (I'm writing this on January 17th) we start. 四露死苦 y'all ;)

[Note: よろしく ('yoroshiku', a Japanese greeting) is correctly written 宜しく, but we were discussing alternate joking spellings of stuff by the end of 2013 in the team.]

Thanks fly out to our team mate Josquin for letting me steal his first post at the Russian team log ;)

I had my first laugh today, which I sorely needed, reading through this thread. Very entertaining :-)

Depending upon the criteria of being a leader of a TAC team (honestly, I have no idea what it entails), I would be interested in leading the Japanese team. I'm not at HTLAL all the time - maybe just 3-5 times a week - but if that is okay, then why not?
