When I first took the test a while ago, I got an ESTJ, followed by an an ISTJ a few years after that. Having just taken the test, I've now got an INTP. Go figure!

Ahhh yes MBTI :)

I'm an INTJ...

My P/J preference is somewhat mixed, but I believe that I am more J because Introverted Intuition is definitely my dominant function.

Seems like quite a few people are getting S on the S/N scale, but feel that the N type
that matches the rest of their results fits them better. I include myself in this.
ISTPs are supposed to be masters of tools (I can't even fix a bike), have trouble with
rote and classroom learning (decidedly NOT a problem for me, I have high standardized
test scores and memorize long lists of words as a hobby), and are closet adrenaline
junkies (I drive 10 under on the highway).

The INTP description, however, was spot on. For example: "Mathematics is a system where
many INTPs love to play, similarly languages, computer systems--potentially any complex
system. INTPs thrive on systems. Understanding, exploring, mastering, and manipulating
systems can overtake the INTP's conscious thought." I am a Philosophy major with minors
in Math, Computer Science, and Russian (I would have liked to major in linguistics, but
it isn't offered at my school. I plan to pursue it in graduate school though). I could
go on about how ridiculously spot on other elements of the description are, but that's
not the point. Mainly I just wonder why this scale seems to be especially prone to misjudgment.
