Well, if you're ISTP you don't have Te but Ti, and your extraverted function is Se. But the whole judging/perceiving stuff is very stereotypical in tests, and it refers to your main extraverted function, so for introverts it overlooks really important things. Basically in most tests the J/P part can easily go wrong, especially for introverts who are dedicated to an interest/cause. So if Te feels right, maybe you're ISTJ actually.

That's the Ti. My auxiliary function is apparently Se which is extraverted, which is why
I seem pretty active. Ti is dominant.

And no I was on about the Ti and the S/N difference. I am definitely not Te haha.

J is unlikely in my case. I never get J ever, always P.

It's not only about valuing your own thoughts and feelings but other people's too :) TBH I would actually think you have a strong Fe, which would make you an ENFJ. The types you mentioned have Fi and Ti respectively.

Maybe. I read these three descriptions and I'd say Ti describes me best, as I'm quite a logical thinker, although I can certainly also relate to the others to an extent. I seem to value thoughts more when it's about myself but feelings enter more when others are involved.

Well, Ti also goes hand in hand with Fe (it can be your third function). For a more full picture, have a look at Te, Ni and Ne. As an N type you have one of Ne or Ni by definition.

In a nutshell, the first letter is your overall dominant preference, pointing inward, Introversion. The fourth letter indicates the type of function that is extraverted; yours is J, so that indicates your Feeling preference is extraverted. That suggests your other function, iNtuition, is introverted.

Thank you for the explanations, kensor - I think I am starting to understand the concepts a bit better now :)

Haha, my aunt is ISTJ and an accountant. I don't think it's so much about compatibility as about one's natural tendencies. An INFJ would likely avoid accounting like plague.

That's interesting. I think most of the accountants I work with would definitely be personality types starting with E to be honest; they certainly seem to enjoy open plan offices, hot-desking, team building activities etc more than I do! But I work in a large corporate firm where extraversion is seen as the ideal.

I will read up on INTJ then and see if the definition resonates with me :)

Also, my comment is not *based* on your job, although obviously I have... taken it into account ;D

"Your personality type is I N T J !

Introverted (I) 93% Extraverted (E) 7%
Intuitive (N) 73% Sensing (S) 27%
Thinking (T) 60% Feeling (F) 40%
Judging (J) 59% Perceiving (P) 41%"

"I'm really in between" was the most common answer.

I got ISFP which doesn't seem quite right to me. I took an MBTI test once before and the results I got told me I was INTJ which also doesn't exactly describe me well. The only thing I'm sure of is that I am definitely an introvert, but I don't need an MBTI test to tell me that.
