*cue start of (another) Public Service Announcement*

I recently stumbled on a big collection of texts from Logos that was just too good to keep in relative anonymity in my log or the "Links and Resources" sub-forum. I think that the links could be handy for any of you who want some practice with L-R or to have another source of texts in your target language(s).

For your purposes, here are the links to the material in Swahili.

Click on the row of letters above the titles to get texts whose title starts with that letter. Texts with accompanying audio have a little blue speaker beside the title.

How was everyone's August-September TAC? I'm quite happy with the result of mine. I
started out with zero knowledge of Japanese and less than 50 hours of targeted study
later, I'm comfortable with Hiragana as well as Katakana and I can understand
approximately two thirds of the sentences in my favourite anime series (Hikaru no Go).

Right now, my main focus areas are French, Japanese and Chinese... and Go, I spend a lot
of time on that instead. I'm still looking for inspiration for the November 6 Week
Challenge, any ideas?

What are your language projects right now?

Yes -- Watching Québecois movies and TV and clocking time speaking with Québecois language partners ;)

As you know, I'm finishing up a book on QF, but I'm also doing some Japanese (a bit weekly, but not that much), and a tiny bit of Mandarin with a tutor. I read occasional articles in German and Spanish. I also have an interpretation assignment in October, so I should spend some time sharpening those skills. I haven't been teaching in the last month. Might also be starting a new podcast series, but nothing confirmed yet.

I just posted a detailed description of how I reached my progress in Japanese:
http://temp.learnlangs.com/step-by-step/understand_TV_in_30_ days

At the bottom there are some concrete examples of phrases I spontaneously understood at
several points.

September was a bit of a lost month for language learning for me, though I managed to get a moderate amount of exposure to spoken Japanese.

What was I doing in August and September... oh yeah, I wrote a book ;)

Since then, I've also been doing some Spanish reading, and bit of German thinking, some Kansaiben exploring, some Japanese writing (Yahoo! Chiebukuro and Lang-8) and some Chinese studying. Shall be doing some more of the same this month until I probably start writing another French podcast series (to be confirmed).

I just posted a summary of this year in my log:

What are everyone's plans for the next year?
