There is no dearth of material on L2 acquisition. Wouldn't a polyglot event rather go for L6...n?

I really like the idea of such a conference (I would consider going to one if it is held somewhere central in Europe). While I can see the need for sponsorship as mentioned by Duke100782, I would nevertheless warn against the danger of turning such a conference into a commercial event. |

Yep, but for me, preferably central to northern Europe.

I probably won't be able to make the Europe one. Not enough money saved yet, but I'll plan for November US one!
Excellent idea!

I had missed the venue and the date - but through a bit of Googling I found the following information at a site called polyglotconference.com:
Budapest on 18-19 May 2013

So who's planning to go to the conference?
I haven't heard much about it for a while, but I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks, but I've already signed up. I haven't heard anything since I signed up about a month ago though.

I have just signed up. I suppose there will be more information about the exact address and program and things like that later, but I do recognize the problems the organizers are facing with an event type that hasn't been tried out yet (except to some extent in the meet-ups organized by the 'Polyglot Club' and Sprachprofi's crocodile sessions) - for instance the number of participants can't be much more than a guess right now. But at some point we have to start thinking about hotel and flight reservations and things like that. I can't see much of a status on the homepage for the event, but would it be possible to get a briefing on the situation right now from the organiszers, in spite of all the uncertainty?
