So far I see the following options:
1) Keep Team *jäŋe / *ledús which encompasses Balto-Slavonic and Finno-Ugric
2) Start a new team for Uralic-Altaic (with or without Slavonic; this would largely modify Team *jäŋe / *ledús to include Samoyedic and Altaic languages)
3) Start a Czechoslovak team which would run regardless of whether 1) or 2) apply.
It seems that Team *jäŋe / *ledús can function happily on its own for 2013 with hribecek's Hungarian and my Finnish, Polish and Ukrainian (among others), in addition to anyone else who will study at least one Finno-Ugric or Balto-Slavonic language.
I suggested the Uralic-Altaic team just because it'd fit with my plans to work on Finnish, Hungarian and Turkish in 2013. We'll see if it'll come into being at all.
However as I said earlier, there's still time to figure out which teams will form.
In any case, I'm putting a formal request for at least one guiding spirit/elder in each of our target languages. For sure we'd need someone for each of Finnish (*cough*Serpent*cough* :-)) and Hungarian (*cough*maxval*cough*) among others. |

Thank you! I was getting a little confused.
I doubt that there is need for a separate Czechoslovak team as there probably wouldn't be many members. I suggest we take the widest definition among your listed options which would mean #2, including Slavonic. Even using the widest possible definition I doubt that you will have to turn people away like the Russian team :) But on the off chance that someone shows up wanting to study one of these languages, I will know where to put them.

I assume you are referring to Chung's request for a godmother.

I'm not surprised. My fingers tend to type things in a random order and figure any vowel will do (I don't know where they got that idea from). And unfortunately, spell check doesn't understand all the strange and foreign names people have. (It doesn't understand mine either since I don't have Norwegian installed.)
Amerykanka:
I originally put you down on the Romance team and the Slavic team, but now the Slavic team seems to have become a Slavic/Romance team. So being on both is perhaps a little redundant. Would you like me to take you off the Romance team? Or should I wait until we see if the Slavic/Romance gets big enough to be fairly certain of holding together? Or do you perhaps feel "the more, the merrier" and want to stay on both anyway?

I've put you on the Japanese team.
TheGreaterFool:
I will leave you on all those teams.
As for dividing teams, I won't do it unless the team members themselves want it. I was just considering the amount of work they would have wading through all those logs. That would probably only be for the first few months though, so if everyone is happy with that, then it's fine. The Russian team has asked to limit their members since they ended up turning people away last year due to the size of the team. Also they have a lot of old members coming back this year, so the team is likely to keep a large percentage of it's members. (A new Russian team will be started though, so it's still possible to do TAC for Russian if anyone is worried about that.)

Yes, I will do TAC 2013 with the following languages: Afrikaans, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian, Polish and Hindi.
Teams: I liked the teams I was on last year so I would like to be in Slavic/Romance, *jäŋe /*ledús teams again. I also want to join the Scandinavian team.

I've very tempted to join the team TAC. My languages for 2013 are,
Definite, regardless of travel plans
French, Spanish, Hungarian, Russian, Irish
Possible, depending on travel plans
Italian, Polish, Czech, others(?)
What team should I consider joining ?
PS. Thanks to Chung for reminding me about the TAC.
