@Hidden Linguist: is there still some genre you prefer? Pop is simply everywhere, and I could recommend some Rock (old school and modern) as well as some Folk. |

Well, although I don't listen to music often, when I do it's a bit of a mix (just whatever I happen to fancy at the time). Either Pop or Rock is fine, or perhaps something Bluesy.

All right, I'll just add a few links, you can listen quickly and see if anything fits you. I'm not adding further description for lack of time. Most of them are rather on the "sad" side of the scale, but that's perhaps not what you meant by bluesy.
folkish

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB__9lTJGL4 (fairly easy. also one of my favourite)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDXpJoNNMyQ (love this one, but perhaps a bit difficult)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkvfNjPrWvI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPYrOG1xMRg <= do NOT learn this accent. Or do.
rock
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2QgJZcgc3E <= if you ever go to a Karaoke in China, that is THE song to learn. It's fairly easy, it's a good song, and surely you'll have made a 朋友 by the end of the song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM678l8mbCc <= a bit more difficult, but a lot of easy parts in it, and a great song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHwfCf2spTk huge classic
I have a lot more, but see if there's something here already.

A bit more context for the first one? Is this one sentence or two?
xxxx or tell your father to make a donation.
Remember to return that rag (piece of cloth used to wipe tables etc) to your uncle.

Ah that makes sense. Maybe the preceding line of the song will help?

抹布记得要还阿阿阿伯
Here 阿伯 means cleaning uncle, or the janitor.
不服气 你就乖 乖乖乖乖转学
管你作弊 还是叫你爸捐钱
If you refuse to accept this, transfer to another school.
It doesn't matter if you cheat or tell your dad to make a donation (to the school)
