Sorry, I haven't been around this forum for quite a while, due to personal reasons which I explain in my log. I think I'm back now, and I'll get back to reading any of your updates as well.

Here is a really nice song by Sylvie Vartan, and the lyrics are not too difficult to understand. I like both versions, but the one for the 1960's is just great. I'm posting this in case someone might find it as enjoyable as I did.
Sylvie Vartan performing Sylvie Vartan - Cette Lettre-là in the 1960's.
Sylvie Vartan performing Sylvie Vartan - Cette Lettre-là in 1994.
Quote:
Quand tu liras

I found SmartsCube on YouTube. This is a really cool
set
of short videos, all in French on practical personal strategies. They include helpful words on the screen. I
recommend them if you like "comprehensible input" methods or just want to be more effective.

Great to see the enthusiasm for the Super Challenge, with Jeffers leading the charge. - Best wishes to
the Deuxièmistes who're taking part!
(I'm assuming other folks are okay with having a pause in Team Deuxième-specific challenges for this
month?)

Thanks songlines... my biggest issues I'm finding starting off is i'm still relying heavy on dictionary use with
words I've not met before that I come across when reading, but i'm determined to let go of that more and
more and speed up my reading and get more involved in the competitive side of this challenge and speed up
my reading, thereby improving my technique... sorry long sentence I know :) Thanks songlines

A quick note to let Deuxièmistes know that our team godmother's now back from her Spanish hiking trip on the
Camino de Santiago. She's probably too modest to "toot her own horn" and post a link to the trip report on
her own log, but here it is. You folks may enjoy it, whether or not you're also learning Spanish.
post 243.
She writes that hopes to have additional posts on both language learning and the Camino, so keep an eye
out for them if you're interested.
Welcome back, Stelle!

Merci songlines! Thanks for the welcome!
While there's no way that I'll be able to catch up on everything that I missed while I'm away, I'm back and reading
your logs whenever you update them. It's hard to believe that we're already more than a third of the way through
2014! I hope that everyone's French studies are going well. Good luck to those of you who are participating in the
Super Challenge.
Please let me know if there's anything that I can do to support you.
Bonne chance! Happy learning!

Warning! Don't follow the link I'm providing unless you like French pop love songs from the 70's. This one by one of Québec's finest during that time. And this one is plenty syrupy, but the lyrics are right down beginners alley - easy for us A1/A2 folks.
Tes Yeux - Nicole Martin
I wrote out the lyrics, so I'll share them here. They are in the video.
Quote:
je suis à toi, tu peux me prendre
