The cheapest way is probably to make the cards yourself, at least you could choose which words to include instead of buying a deck where you may know 30% of the cards.

There are several flashcard programs out there (Mnemosyne, Memory lifter, Supermemo, ZDT et.c.) enabling you to flip cards on the screen, and possibly also make a printed version of the cards of your choice.

Is there a program that allows me to make and print my own flashcards? For free would be better too.

I assume that there is. How about checking some of threads that my link (see above) suggests?

I have only begun to try this method. I’m currently using LingQ as a vocabulary builder. One thing this system allows you to do is print a list of words you have saved on to the system………meaning, you can print the text on one side of the paper, and your word list of saved LingQs (your saved words with the translation) on the other side- and hey presto, you have piece of paper you can carry around.   And of course you still review all the words you saved on the system, which you don’t know, via the flash cards.
I understand that many of you haven’t a clue of what I just wrote, but I can elaborate, just ask.
Also, I’m only a beginner, so I’m far from being an expert, but I think this is a good system of using another system.
