Hmm, I'd really like to do the Skype sessions, but they're too early: I won't be
available until about 12:30 PM New York time...

I'm flexible with regard to the scheduling of future seesions.
Maybe we could make some use of the FSI FAST course next time? I haven't had a look at
it myself yet but it's freely available with audio
here
and in a different format
here.
Quoting from the introduction: "We want you to leave here with the ability to face,
without hesitation, any number of situations you will encounter in day-to-day life in
those cities where you will live, work and visit". So it might be useful for finding
suitable dialogues to use as earlier discussed in this thread.

Hi, sorry I couldn't make it but I need to have a look on the skype manual. I have already two more
contacts on skype. I hope next skype session will go smoother. I agree with the suggestion to use FSI
course. I'd go further and suggest we pick a lesson of a textbook, work on it during the week, use it for
dialogue practice, and also we choose a text for reading and vocabulary drill. It would be useful for doubt
clarification.

Hi, I don't think there was anything wrong at your end. I saw you tried to call me, but if I had answered, then I would have been cut off from the rest of the conversation with the others. I think we all need to make sure everyone had added all the others before next time.

My time zone might make it quite hard for me to take part in the Skype sessions, I'm at GMT +9... but my schedules can be pretty flexible, so I'll see what I can do for next time.

@drsarvo I'm sorry about the Skype session. I don't know why it wasn't working for you :-/
@jellyfish We might be able to coordinate multiple Skype sessions with different groups of people, if necessary, if
we all can't make it to one. Once or twice a week, say, we can potentially host a session, and we can vote on times.
The idea being that at least every 2 weeks or so there is at least one Skype session each team member can make.
Speaking of, I typed up the first set of диалоги from Урок 1. PM me your e-mail addresses and I will e-mail you the
document.

@tecktight: I think it's a great idea to schedule different skype sessions. I vote for Monday afternoon, say around 1900 hours, Central Standard Time (I think it's -6 hours GMT).
I'd be glad to receive dialogue from lession number one, so that we can practice in next skype session. My mail is: drsarvo@yahoo.com.mx
I also propose to exchange texts that we can read in the sessions, we could exchange them via e-mail a fex days prior to the sessions. No matter if they are elemental dialogues or texts from textbooks; if you have the audio of these texts we can listen to it and exchange opinions about pronuntiation.
That could be done also with poems and songs, we could agree in a determined song, search the lyrics in internet and listen to it in youtube.
I propose a poem: телефон, by Корней Чуковский. There is even a video in youtube so that you can listen to a Russian actor reciting it, it's very funny. You can find the text in hobbitniya.ru, it includes some delicious vignettes.
And a song: Katyusha. Find the lyrics in marxists.org (including English translation).
How do you like my proposals?
I hope to read your opinions.

I think -6 GMT at 19h wouldn't work for those in Europe.
