Yay...another good news! In this case I should probably pick French as my main language. I already have a lot of material I could use (textbooks, exercise books, graded readers and so on) whereas for Swedish I only have Assimil's course and a couple of books...which, unfortunately, are too difficult for my current level. And knowing myself if I picked Swedish I would spend too much time looking for good materials instead of studying. Oh well...I guess it will be easy to pick my next 6WC language ;)

DK: Bogen "Kronprincessen" af Hanne-Vibeke Holst har vi læst i vores danskkursus to år siden. Jeg synes at det er en meget interessant bog, fordi alle politiske udviklinger er så meget realistiske. NOR.BOK: I begyndelsen var det også unaturligt for meg å bruke norsk, men nå er jeg allerede vant til å skrive eller snakke (på Skype) norsk. I like that idea. Set a goal for the month and than measure yourself on it. For me it'll be at least 30h Swedish and at least 30h Norwegian+Danish combined. That sounds interesting!
Do you think that only intensive (textbook) studying counts or is it anything goes as with the 6wc where we log everything we do? I only ask because reaching 30 hours in Swedish might be a huge challenge for me if I can’t count such things as TV-watching or extensive reading especially since I’m supposed to target Spanish this month. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

Extensive methods are usually my bread and butter, so yeah, everything counts ;)

Sorry for being MIA for almost a fortnight, but I’m having some time-management problems right now (more on that on my log, as soon as I manage to post an update).
We’ve already reached the middle of February, so I think it’s high time we posted a challenge for this month before it’s too late. As the team thread has been pretty quiet lately, I was thinking of a very simple (but easy to make harder if one so wishes) challenge for this month so that everyone will be able to do it. The rationale behind a rather un-challenging challenge is to exploit it simply as an opportunity for everybody to stay engaged with the TAC team rather than to push anyone too hard (maybe that isn’t really the spirit of the TAC, but I can live with that). So, here’s February challenge: Tell us what your favourite TL word is right now and why. It may be a word that has a particularly interesting etymology, or a word that sounds like a funny word in your native language, or maybe it’s just the latest word you’ve learnt or … well, you tell us! If you feel bold enough, you can justify your liking in your TL (in this case, please, add an English translation so everybody can understand you) but for me that’s not necessary to “win” the challenge unless, of course, too many people complain about how easy the challenge is and request that everyone post in the TL (remember, though, that some of us are still beginners). In next month’s challenge we’ll tackle Nordic songs, so you may want to familiarize yourselves with them: a good point to begin if you don’t know where to start is this post over at the Scandinavian room.
