From Johannes, who is a normal member, I know that these normal members can search on the last 10 posts of a certain user. There was a bug in this function, but the Administrator has fixed it.

Yes, I can see the last 10 posts, not more. Before there was the possibility to discover all the posts and threads which the person had wrote. My own posts as well are tranlsated in $$%§¶•&&*_‘“¢£™‹›fi€fl‡¢¢$ The search is now useless and functions only for the Mods and Pros. For use this forum now, you have to be Mod /Pro.
Three of my other votes were not older, but they were yesterday: in the German thread. But, if those aren't in the 10 last ones it's not possible read them, only the Volapük. I received my first vote for a post which I wrote 10 months ago: it tells this infos, but not which post. It's absolutely annoying ¢¢∞$%$$$^&*((@⁄›fi¢$$$$

Jar-Pitsa, I agree that the search function is pretty much useless for people who don't have a pro account, I now just use google if there is something I want to search for, such as when I was trying to find the "word audiobook in many languages thread" I typed:
audiobook site:how-to-learn-any-language.com
and it was the first result. I don't really care to complain about it (too much), but I suppose that people should be a little more lax now with things like starting a thread on a subject that has already been discussed.
Btw, I just noted that the administrator has added a google search option in the search menu, which satisfies me. I still don't know of a good way to see one specific persons post or which of your posts received votes apart from paying for the pro membership, which I assume is what he (the administrator) wants?

At least this log has monthly summaries, and I added those because even the old search function had a defect, namely that you only were led to a thread, not to the posts (or at least pages) that you actually were searching for. If I went into my profile back then I could also just see the 10 latest post, the rest were just referenced as whole threads. But at least I wasn't presented with a screen full of x'es. For Pro's this function has become much better, and apart from the nonsense it is status quo in the profile for other members.
The possibility to search for contributions by a specific member - including yourself - is obviously a sales argument for buying a pro membership. But it would probably be better just to indicate that ordinary members couldn't access this facility instead of showing garbage. Maybe the Administrator will end up at that solution, - he is obviously working hard to change the look and workings of the site these days, and things change almost daily.
I don't have this problem, because everytime I have written something I start revising it. So at the bottom of almost all my own posts there is the message "Edited by Iversen". But not all members have this dubious habit.
I will be spending most of this Saturday transferring the magazine of my travel club to our website, so I will not have much time for language studies, except maybe the odd TV program. Right now I'm looking at Discovery World, where James Mays is telling me something about technology - interesting, but in English.

Hi Crush and Iversen,
I agree with you. I will try the Google search.
For me the money's not a problem: every week I receive 20 € but I don't go shopping and I don't need things and I don't like money. Every 3 months I make a donation of 25 € I havne't a bank account but I can pay with my Mum or Dad's ones. The problem's that if I pay HTLAL, maybe the next day they will ban/muzzle/make to be invisible/block PMs and writting posts etc... I don't pay for this, of course not.

ENG: I doubt that you will have problems again. If people are nasty to you then the site has a corps of moderators to stop it, and your job is just to stay calm - then you can stay here forever. Btw. you got the oldest vote for your post with the anecdote about the German bird(s) in the mixing-up thread.

IT: In questo momento vedo un quiz "L'eredità" alla televisione Italiana, e prima si ho seguito "Passaggio all'Ovest" su iscrizioni a Pompei, 'alpinismo' in Himalaya e il Golden Gate Bridge di San Francisco.
