Luckily it is possible to download the whole thing without pollution via the links in the section above, but unfortunately this is through a torrent, and although the content is legal in this case I'm deeply suspicious about the method. |

Is there some specific reason you're suspicious of the technology? It's quite widespread now, and is, as far as I know, entirely safe, assuming you're downloading things which aren't illegal. There are a number of software companies which now use it to help them distribute data, specifically Valve and Blizzard (both quite large and prominent game developers). There are also programs which let you block certain IP addresses, and you can select premade lists of "bad" IP addresses. One such program is PeerBlock, which is open source and free.
However, quite frankly, those programs are more geared for people who are downloading illegal things, as the lists are often blocking organizations like the RIAA, the MPAA, and other watch dog groups. If all you're downloading is a legal torrent provided by a reputable organization, there's really not much need for such precautions.

Well, maybe I'm just born distrustful and overcautious (like the rhino Thabo, formerly at Krefeld, now at Ree Park in Denmark where it stays in the stable because there are strange animals running around outside the door and it doesn't trust them!). Youtube might in principle also be just another nice old fellah like Jabba the Hut in Starwars.
By the way, I have spent the whole afternoon reading the book compiled by Syzygycc with contributions by forty or so polyglots, cfr. this thread. It is time to do something different now.

EN: There is nothing written in my "Reisgids Denemarken" about Ree Park in Ebeltoft, but here is the website in Danish - English - German:
http://www.reepark.dk/default.aspx?pageID=17&lang=en
I understand the rhino Thabo in it's behaviour of distrust, because animals in Ree Park live "in freedom" there in contrast to the zoo of Krefeld, where the rhinos live on a very small space on their own. They have no contact with other species of animals, so they have no experience with them. The area of the zoo in Krefeld is very small, because it's situated in the city, therefore the zoo has no possibility to enlarge.

---
I have spent most of the evening decrypting, transcribing and scanning a heap of postcards from the members of my travel club in order to put them on our homepage (including my own postcard back home from Brunei). While I try to understand the scribble it is difficult to listen to speech in any language - somehow those two activities compete - so for most of the time I listened to music, including a cassette with 90 minutes of Sousa marches. But at 6 pm CET I watched a program in Spanish about a Spanish landscape - I have noticed that TVE often has such programs at that time, and they are actually excellent. Today we saw among other things the bull run at Pamplona. And near the end of the evening, when I had done the reading and coping part I listened to some of the polyglot videos on Youtube. But I have simply not had time for any language studies today, and that's annoying.

I have spent an evening doing two videos. Actually I made one last week which should be some kind of introduction to later productions, btu I was not qutie satisfied with it. So today I started all over again, and I could soon see that the whole thing would last more than 15 minutes. And then I made two videos, one about the problem of reading languages with a rotten spelling (and ouch, I do think I mentioned English) and the distinction between intensive and extensive activities, the other about intensive reading and copying plus something about hyperliteral translations, the use of Google translate and the art of thinking in your target language. I have planned to make two more, one about grammar studies (including my 'green sheets'), the other about memorization techbniques and idiomatic expressions. And after that maybe some shorter ones in different languages. So it has been a long and busy evening.

Hello Iversen. Do you want any corrections in your Spanish paragraphs?
